Always an absolute treat to see the auxiliary lamps turn with the steering - all linked mechanically! Cornering lamps before electronics made them cool.

A special post for this deadly duo - the Mercedes-Benz 220SE and the Ford Thunderbird.
Restored expressly for the Concours, the attention to detail on them was unmatched. And undoubtedly this pursuit of perfection was rewarded handsomely with both the cars bagging best in class.
We managed to get the two stunning garage-mates together for a quick photo-op after the event concluded. A doff of my proverbial hat to the owner and the extremely talented restorer for putting out such works of art for us to drool over.


























The cars from Mumbai hit the home run and managed to grab a huge chunk of awards. This called for a picture with the grand venue and we managed to line up almost all the participants from the city for a fantastic image.

Parting shots from the event, as we made way to the hotel after an extremely long but memorable day. The love for old cars, and passion for everything automobile had got people to Jaipur from all over the country and it would be wrong to not thank the organisers for putting up a grand event.
Definitely looking forward to the next edition, with the hope of being able to attend it as well!

Famished after a rather long day, and wanting to get some food into our system, we decided to head to Egg Dee, acting on a friends suggestion.
And it turned out to be the best decision ever! If you like eggs, Egg Dee gets a 10/10 for lip smacking egg preparations. A definite recommendation.

Day Four - Part One
February 25,2019
Jaipur City
~0630 Hours

With a 5 odd hour drive ahead of us, we bade farewell to Jaipur and hit the highway expecting fantastic stretches of tarmac which had been a constant factor in our journey till Jaipur. To our surprise, the road quality was a mixed bag. Uneven surfaces, potholes and cars coming in from the wrong side, it was impossible to maintain a decent/constant speed.



Day Four - Part Two
February 25,2019
New Delhi
~1230 Hours

Taking over 6 hours to reach Delhi, we headed to visit a fantastic collection of modern super and luxury cars.
Very thankful to the owner for letting us see and click his collection.
Also,a big shoutout to my friend Avik Dey for setting up this visit for us.

The first of the lot was the V12 monster from Sant'Agata! The Murcielago is a timeless design, and is nothing less than an icon.

The other two cars were masterpieces from Crewe, a Bentley Mulsanne and a Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible.

The Mulsanne looks grand. There are very few cars that match its presence and grandeur.










One of the first Conti GT Convertibles in the country, this is a rare breed of cars around our country,

We headed to our hotel after spending time with some of the finest British and Italian machines. Post check-in, we freshened up and headed to meet some friends at Aerocity.

Day Five - Part One
February 25,2019
New Delhi
~0930 Hours

Day five was one of the first days since our trip began that we got to sleep to our hearts content. After waking up at a 'leisurely' 9AM, we quickly got done with breakfast and set out to see a car that I had been wanting to see since the day it landed in the country.
Our first stop for the day - Rolls-Royce Motor Cars New Delhi.

The car in question is this Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II Coupé.It is one of the 35 uber exclusive cars to be made as a part of the Aviator Collection. The Aviator Collection was made to honor one of the founders of this legendary marque, Charles Stewart Rolls and is named the Aviator Collection to celebrate the aviator and creator that C.S Rolls was.
This is the only Series II Coupé, and just one of two Coupés in the entire country. Special indeed!

It would be only unfair to proceed without thanking Sandeep Malhotra , Avik Dey and the entire team at Rolls-Royce Motors Cars New Delhi for making this experience possible.

While the Rolls' left us enamoured, we realised how long we had been ogling at the car. As we decided to leave, not visiting the Ferrari showroom next door would be foolish. We quickly took a tour of the Ferrari showroom, where we were greeted by a pair of Ferrari 488GTBs and a gorgeous Blue GTC4Lusso. A few pics later, we thanked the people both the showrooms, who had been absolutely welcoming and made way to out second stop for the day - Noida.
Little did we know while clicking these pics, that one of these cars would be heading to a friend of ours in Mumbai in the near future.

Day Five - Part Two
February 25,2019
Noida
~1500 Hours

We reached Noida after finishing a short meeting I had to attend and grab some lunch. Our friend in Delhi had recently bought a Huracan, and we were headed to see his new acquisition.

En route, we happened to see a plethora of Maybachs and this GLE too.



Going around Noida and Delhi in and around this striking looking Rosso Mars Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 was a treat. The NA V10 sounds surreal!





































New Delhi probably has one of the nicest in-city road infrastructure, and it beats me how it still manages to fall short of the requirement.



On our way back to the hotel, we happened to see this mule of the eagerly awaited WagonR electric in the maddening Delhi traffic.







Although we were tired after a long day driving across Delhi, and since it was our last evening in the city, we met another friend who took us, on an in-car tour of India Gate and the famous spots and locations around it. At around 10 in the night, we finally retired for the day. With a 675km journey to Udaipur the next morning, we needed to get our full quota of sleep.

Day Six
February 26,2019
New Delhi - Chomu - Udaipur ~680kms
~0600 Hours

We hit the Delhi-Jaipur highway at around 6AM. En route, we had a small detour to take for some work I had, and since it was en route we decided to get it done before proceeding ahead.

Truck accidents are a common sight on these highways.


Driving at a leisurely 80kmph, enjoying the tarmac and the last of the pleasant weather, we managed to reach Udaipur around 9PM.
Since most restaurants were away from our place, and not wanting to experiment, we ended up at the trusty Sukhadia Circle food hub once again.
With dinner done, we headed back and slept almost instantly.

Day Seven
February 27,2019
Udaipur - Mumbai ~760kms
~0530 Hours

Bombay calling!
We depart from Udaipur to avoid the truck traffic that tends to pile up on the way out. With the ever familiar and amazing roads of Gujarat ahead, the journey was a breeze. A few test mules passed us on the other side and we realised that we were in vicinity of the MG factory.

Entering back into Mumbai usually is a pain due to the traffic at the Western Express Highway, but we lucked out and managed to hit the city much before expected. And since we were before schedule, we drove up all the way to Fort to grab dinner instead of heading home

As mentioned at the beginning of the thread, below are the overall expenses incurred during the entire journey. Pretty VFM me thinks!


Our expedition through multiple cities could not have been as memorable and enjoyable without our City.
The car performed rather fantastically, in typical Honda fashion.


Just as we had clicked the odo before the journey began, it was imperative to take another picture as it hit this milestone just a few kilometers before we entered Mumbai on the way back.


I have tried to keep the entire write-up as error free as possible, however, if you do spot any, kindly let me know so as to rectify it.

It has been quite the throwback for me penning this down, and while I know the thread has turned out too long to go through in detail, I hope that those who do are able to revel in as much as we have enjoyed it.

This is just exquisite stuff! I am currently restoring a 1951 Series MM Morris Minor and the benchmark that my mechanic and I have set for ourselves is the Cartier Concours. We hope to have the car ready to these standards in the next couple of months - restoration thread coming up!
