Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!

The 2nd of October every year - a national holiday in honour of the birth anniversary of the father of the nation. A day which is usually lazy and slow considering almost all offices and institutions are not working. But not this year, for this motley bunch of BMW owners - who were called upon by the admin of a BMW-only owners group called Bavarians, to meet in the wee hours of this mid-week holiday for a quick breakfast and drive around Mumbai.

I happened to join the group, with a plan to click the beauties from Bavaria. Was wielding the camera for a proper planned shoot after quite a long period of hibernation, but I guess the pictures did turn out pretty ok.

Apart from the pictures I have clicked, included below are pictures clicked by Mahir Javeri and Karan Manghwani as well.

F06 640d GranCoupe wrapped in the most stunning shade of green I've come across. Absolutely fantastic wrap job as well.

The E46's were a well represented lot. From the sedans to the 325ci, the E46 has aged rather well.

The E36 generation of the 3-series had just one representative - but the might M3 at that.

The 5-series was represented by three generations - the E34, the E60 and the F90.

Re: Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!

Apart from the BMWs, some turned up in other non BMW cars as well, due to non availability of their cars on that particular day. Can this Mini be counted as a non-BMW though?

Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!-mini.jpg

A friend got along his brand spanking new Hyundai Venue which was the other cam car for Mahir Javeri. He and myself, in the passenger seat of the Miata, happened to click each other almost at the same time - and these following images are what our viewfinders showed us respectively.

Another friend got his Mazda Miata for the drive - and that was my cam car for the day. Low, fast and zippy around traffic, it definitely is one of the reasons that I got some nice pics. I think it is only right that this thread have some pics of the Jap pocket rocket too!

What a beauty! Good to see its successor, the G15 do justice to this one with a (relatively) small front grille when all the other bimmers are moving to barbecue grilles.

The pictures are more than OK, absolutely stunning, as are the subjects! Good to see the E31 840i back in action, though it needs better wheels!

Indeed Great collection of pictures and nice write up.
Any 1970’s BMW 2002 model in India ? I wish to see it in flesh.

Absolutely! God those new grilles are hideous. Had thought they would grow on me with time but don't see that happening yet.

Haha glad you liked the pics! The E31 has my heart. And I second you on the wheels bit.

The color is brilliant but the wrap quality deserves special mention. We actually argued amongst ourselves whether it was a wrap or a paintjob, before the owner intervened to confirm it was wrapped and not painted.

Thanks! Theres a few old BMWs from that era but I'm not sure if those are 2002s or not. Absolute beauty though!

Re: Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!

The BMW E31 840 with the AC Schnitzer body kit looks drool worthy. I guess it is the only one in India ?

Well, it is too good. Cant make out from the pics that its a wrap. Obviously if you had trouble with the naked eye, its bound to be impossible in pics.
But is it even legal to do a wrap like that, given that we have the car color on the RC?

Re: Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!

The cars are stunning and everyone praised them. But the Photography ! Brilliant !

Those motion shots are perfect. You must be having tonnes of patience and practice to achieve such pictures. Nice angles as well.

My heart won't let my fingers scroll through the screen when the E60 M5 and F90 M5 pic comes up.

Re: Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!

I could not believe that 6 series was wrapped! Genuinely looks like as if BMW sells it in that colour. It looks amazing in that colour! But the absolute best looking for me is that F90 M5 in that blue colour. Looks menacing and fluidic and whole host of other words that can be applied here.

Re: Breakfast with Bimmers in Bombay!

Wow that Green color looks amazing!
Reminds me of the new ad campaign that BMW has launched for the new X6 M competition.
