Many of the cars listed from India were at the last pebble beach event.

Most of the judges also are the same.

Some cars I am informed are being transported at no cost to the owner, others have to pay for themselves.

Many maharaja cars with excellent provenance do not find a mention in the list, yet a known Calcutta chop job is attending. :Shockked:

One wonders at the criteria for selection

I have heard that maybe the UAE Concours has been shelved for this year. As far as the Indian contingent is concerned, they are surely not going.

Trying to get more info on this.

I was told, I do not know how far it is correct, that the concours is not cancelled.

There was / is some issue with costs and carnets.

Indeed, it appears that the UAE Concourse has not been cancelled. Only the Maharaja Class may have been postponed.
The curator has resigned. It appears that there were some issues including the extend of the limited sponsorship being offered.
I understand that one car has already reached Dubai. Wonder how this will pan out.

Cheers harit

Its confirmed No cars from india are going. The cancellation was due to no responses regarding commitments from the concours team. while the curator has resigned the chairman still remains quiet regarding the commitments to participants. jugdes have also been left hanging regarding their reservations etc. while the concours will happen it is not known how good or bad itll be with 12 of the 25 vintage cars dropping out.

Latest update from the concours team

The car that had reached Dubai for the concours has touched down at Mundhra Port!!

There were some fantastic cars, around 20 but really cool ones.

Sadly no cars from India nor any of the celebrity judges showed up !!!

not surprised, with such bad organizing didnt expect the show to be any good. hopefully the organizers have learnt their lesson and can be better at their job for the future shows.

They were badly let down by several people they trusted implicitly

whos is the "they" that you speak of? more like they let people down who they had committed to. verbal commitments were never followed up by concrete documents of those commitments. Judges were left hanging, participants too. The chairman of the concours is too high headed to reply to emails or calls which lead to the curator resigning. arrogance of the highest order.

If you want feel free to PM me

Were you taking a car to the show ?

Yes my car was the one that reached dubai.bluckily we were able to turn it around without being off loaded. I don't feel the need to PM anyone as I have seen and faced the brunt of their internal shortcomings first hand. The only ones let down were the participants who spent a good amount of time and money to get their cars ready.
