Hi Guys,
Your Reporter reporting.
Team Bhp was represented extensively at the VCCCI Rally by:

Dippy
EGangsta
2L8ULoose
Rtech
V-16
Karlosdeville
Moralfibre
The Mole
...Im sorry if ive missed someone out.

First the great news.
The participating team-Bhp contingents have won prizes at the rally
Yours truly's entry, the VW Golf Gti MK-1 won a prize for the third place for best performance in its class, which was driven by a dear friend and
The Mole's Merc, won the the 3rd place in the best restored car in its class
The Team, Team-Bhp Cups:

The Mole, along with his dad, recieving his cup from Dr.Pasricha at the prize distribution ceremony

What a day it was,. The Sun was shining hard, reflecting with an almost Jewellery like sheen from the Hard Chrome Bumpers and the High gloss paint finishes of well waxed car surfaces.
This reporter was holding a three pronged agenda, as;
1) Driver to one of the cars, participating the rally.
2) Reporter the VCCCI rally for the forum
3) Paparazzi (hereinafter referred to as the Pappe-razzi) reporting the glamour at the rally.

The reports will be filed tomorrow or rather later today as even Pappe-razzi insomniacs have to take rest, solong then, till tomorrow and dont forget to keep a watch on this thread,
G'nite.

What an amazing Sunday morning. Over a 100 classic cars , some fantastic classic bikes, a bunch of Bhpians and well glamour at its best .

Great to hear our Golf and Amols Merc won prizes . I didnt attend the evening function since I was tired and going home watching F1 and coming back would have been a bit taxing.

Thank you Gogi for a wonderful time. The drive in your Roller was mezmerizing and the attention we got was second to none. Will file my small report too later with my set of pics . But the report of Gogi is most awaited

Gogi's immaculate Rolls stands next to another immaculate one.

The star of the show for me.

Car security system!

A certain someone tries squeezing into a 20ft Dodge...but no luck!

He then ponders about the Jeep, but the above mentioned security system scares him off.

Woowww!! Amazing!! Boy am I envious of you guys who'd attended this rally!
Btw, I'm told that there's going to be another rally (of mostly bikes) in Goa on 9th/10th(?) May? I believe its in celebration of Goa....any of you know about this as well?? Am planning to make it...I believe the organisers are from B'bay & they will be taking loads of vintage bikes from Hyderabad as well (for the event)....

Karl was in the rear seat in my car with me. The boy is a wonder with numbers (read as number plates) he remembers them by heart, every single one of them. He could get a job in an RTO office pronto

Now for my pictoral report:

The First Part

The day started in my parking lot where my two entrants to the VCCCI rally were getting some finishing touches.

Dippy had called the evening before and was reaching my place at a pre-determined time. Karlosdeville (hereinafter refered to as "Karl" and Moralfibre, herinafter refered to as "Moral" had arrived in Bombay and were to meet us directly at the venue. Dippy was there on the dot in his gleaming OHC Automatic Gen-II. Appreciate Dippy's punctuality and value for time. We refuelled both, the RR and the Golf Gti and came back to my place where we were to meet a friend who was accompanying us to the venue. Dippy rode with me. On reaching there, we found Karl and Moral Gawking at the pristine beauties (all not of vehicular origion, tough of the same gender). Guess it was time for the unthreading of Moral's Moral Fibre.
I immediately went into my "Trigger Happy" mode.

The tyres had to be "Foamed" clean and then wiped with a Tyre Wipe.

we collected our numbers and display plates and put them up on the cars.

The classics were lined up together after being given the "Final Grooming", Awaiting their turn to flag off. The space left between them was delibrate so that their doors could be opened without hurting either of them. Also in such events, there are a lot of enthusiasts who want to go around the car and check them out. Such space lets them do so without them having to graze against the cars.

There was an immaculately dressed Military Band playing welcoming tunes.

An immaculate Jaguar.

A rare, Vintage Citroen.

A beautiful Chevy Open Top Tourer.

The immaculately restored prize winning Bentley.

My all time favourite, a "Pagoda Top" Mercedes. This one was a 230SL. I have seen this car in various stages from the time it was bought. Originally with Delhi plates, in a vine red colour with non origional mag wheels, even the fuel injection was cancelled and this car was fitted with a carburator.
Since then it has undergone complete restoration for a long long time, has been restored to its fuel injection heart and even had an airconditioner fitted. A special period, radio which originally came with the car was imported and fitted. Now its a very fine example of good restoration.

A 1939 SS Jaguar

Much has been said about the oft photographed Lincoln V-12. It looks as good from the opposite perspective.

Guys, Still More Pics to follow...watch out, the best is yet to come!!............
....In a while!!
