Guys, let me introduce you to Comdr. P.F.K. Mehta. He is an absolute gem when maintaining cars is concerned. At senior citizens age he cleans his fleet of 18 cars himself and is more often known as "The Mudguard" man. Not a speck of dust on his cars and they look impeccable. In fact he wasn't going to get the Morris for the rally since "it had a fused tail lamp bulb"!!!! He deserves a standing ovasion for his love and passion for cars. He was known as Krish uncle in the former rally in Feb.

Here are two of his beauties:

This is his placard from the Chrysler:

He did a burn out on the flag off in his Chrysler Fluid Drive. This is me - him. "His craziness is an inspiration" as my buddy Karl says!!

Gogi, it seems you did not upload yet.

Well we all looked presentable but, we are standing next to a nice shining Rolls Royce and I doubt whether anybody noticed us to be a part of the picture frame yet .

well, heres my list of the best in the show

1936 Rolls Royce with a very interesitng history (given to me by a previous owner)

1947 Bentley Mk VI of Nitin Dossa

prize winning 1947 Chrysler Windsor...recently restored from a very bad state, almost scrapped. the transformation is incredible, though most chrome bits have been remade, and note rear windscreen rubber from a padmini!

1947 Chrysler Windsor and New Yorker. The crowds went beserk seeing these two similar cars together....

1946 Citroen Traction....single owner, and a regular at the rally scene....immaculate!

1932 Ford Model A from Pune...one of 5 at the event. Note "mother in law" seat and Grebel headlights...worth a bomb!

1947 Harley of Arjun Khanna...very unique, and not looking too bad in that quaint colour combo.

1947 Interational woody of harit trivedi. Very rare, I assume its part of the Internation Harvester company...strangely she sported even rarer SAAB hubcaps which threw me off initially!

more to follow

1939 jaguar in HORRIBLE! colour combination...she even won a prize last year with many bits not original....sigh...

My pick of the show, Late JM Chudasamas 1934 Mercedes 500K

1951 Morris Minor convertible, all ladies team.

1963 VW Beetle...one of the most original ive seen in a while.

All in all, an event not too dissimilar from the Feb event...i was expecting something more...oh well.

Had a great time nonetheless. All thanks to gogi "gopi" singh...Cheers!

Unfortunately since 2 events were held so close to each other in bombay, and with so many participants from pune, we in pune are unlikely to get an event this year...

Pheroze is something else allright...he's known every year for the insane flag offs in his chryslers! Also known as Mr mudguard...infact he was almost going to bring a towel for the judge to get under his cars to see how spotless they are...he actually wax polishes the underneath of the floorboards! his stories can entertain you for hours on end...and i smiply cant resist posting this picture of his dodge windscreen...

may his tribe increase!

cheers
karl
