Hi ,
Here is yesterdays purchase, a Mumbai car lost in Lucknow
Value for money at 1,45,000
I have been informed it was GD Birla's personal ride , I am the second owner after the Birla organisation.
Congratulations Chauhan! She seems to be clean & well cared for. It's a late 70's, early 80's Buick right?
congratulation on your new purchase. the car needs a new windscreen and some work too. this looks like a caprice.

The later Beetle seems really nice barring the missing trim and those ghastly Matiz mirrors. The early powder blue beetle (58-60) however has many non original parts like the tailights, semaphore replacers, switches, Fiat door handles, rubbers etc.

Great Buick Chauhan. Its a piece of history that you bought. I had also gone to purchase an 80s Buick Park Avenue but the price was steep and then it eventually went to a scrapper for half the price I had offered and the worst thing was that when I got to the scrapper, he had already sold it to a supposed collector whos rotting the car even today BUT its not for sale??/\BTW The cute kid on the bonnet is your son?
Yes Gogi , that's my younger son . The car is a 1977 Buick Electra Limited.
The car was minimally restored by the dealer who had bought the car at the factory auction. The chap declared that he would never sell the car for less than 5,00,000 , but with no place to park the car and after hooligans broke the windshields , the car was sold for 1,10,000 to a mechanic from where it reached me.
Hi all ye wise people, me a newbie, joined Team BHP moments back.
Congrats Vintageman, that's an all american muscle car. These old GM Boats are incomparable to cars made after the '80s. Car handles very well for its size and provides an extreme amount of comfort. The backseat can fit my entire extended family. Rides like no other. The huge 5.7L V8 will blow off 90% of cars on the road when the light turns green. Thing looks like a slow tank, but whips like a hotrod when you put your foot down . I'll recommend using high octane fuel, -- it'll be worth the ride. Huge size, very, very spacious interior. The 77 Electra Ltd. is stylish, reliable, and has great pickup for a large luxury car. The auto tranny is excellent although very complex to restore in India.

From an under-the-bonnet look, one can see that spiderman's little workers have been busy with the car standing for such a while.:D

Why has he not scrapped the Dicky? and why has he left the Patti lines intact and unscrapped along with the pillars?. These holes are the places where rust catches on.
Otherwise looks to be coming on fine. So who all are accompanying me to Goa, end September to bring her back:D
scooby uncle it looks like this guy is just doing an over coat for you and not a complete scrape down. the brakes drums also look like he is gonna clean them up and not overhaul them completely. the bonnet also is off, i hope it has no serious engine work. maybe it is for the time constraints that you have put on him that he is doing a hurried job. my advice is drive the car around goa for a day or two atleast before embarking on the return journey. safety first uncle.

This was the 2nd car there between the restored one & the dead one, supposed to be under resto.
