The Oudh Heritage Car Club has been holding a heritage vintage drive for the past 4 years. The drive is held in collabration with INTACH.
The purpose of the drive is to sensitize our youngsters towards our unique city - its heritage, culture and the vintage cars.
The event consists of driving 60 school children, eminent citizens and brave children awarded by the Governement around the most important historic buildings in Lucknow. The event was conceptualized by Mr. Ravi Bhatt an eminent historian (and the person who in a moment of weakness let go his Topolino to me), he accompanies the drive and details the actual history of the monuments to the children , our very own Mr. P.N.D. Singh of Oel briefs the children about the car. The drive culminates with a quiz and essay competition and we would like to believe the participants enjoy the ride as much as our members.

This years event was sponsored by Hindustan Times and the sponsors seemed quite satisfied with the event.

This year it was an honour to have the MP from Kannuaj - the honurable Ms. Dimple Yadav attend the event and ride with us , alongwith her children.

If any other club in the country would like to hold a similar event , I can broach the topic to INTACH and Hindustan Times for a pan- India, city specific event.
I thought it was a good time to inform the forum about this event as I understand the event has been featured by Air India in its magazine Shubh Yatra .

In Lucknow it is permitted for children ride the Jaguar

Thanks for the pictures vintageman. I am particularly interested in car no.22. Looks like a light-12. We see so few of these big Austins here in India. In my mind they are the archetypal 'Vintage' car

Here are pics. I'd taken on the I-day rally at Lumbini Park, Hyderabad conducted by the Deccan Heritage Automobile Association. A bit late on my part but I had to copy these pics. from my phone and had time constraints in uploading them here!
The turnout is getting back on slowly but steadily. Unfortunately wasn't able to take my car to the event this time! But was still happy to attend as a spectator!

Finally free to post the rest of the 15th August '15 pics.! The scooters. Most noticeable was this original LD (except for the RH gauge and that extra LD emblem badge on the legshield)
