karl the champ looks really well maintained. very unique indeed. the owner has not spared any details. the fuel cap is also in a unique place next to the tail lights. the front looks a little like the jonga.
the mistake on the car is the modern side view mirrors the owner has fitted.

Just a note: the Morris Minor pics. are especially for our mm lovers, viz. khanak!

OK now that I'm able to upload images once again (although at glacial speed!) here is the continuation of the Hyderabad rally pics.

One of the 2 stars of the event, 1971 Citroen DS21 lovingly restored by the current owner Mr. Janardhan Rao. Karl had posted pics. of this very car plus many others in the owner's collection in this thread:

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintag...ction-2-a.html

There is one more pic. of the interior which I'm not able to upload now!

More later....

nice picture stanher, did the car come with wheelcaps or not? very well maintained and as we had seen in the earlier pictures posted the cars air suspension also works.
take your time in posting if and when imageshack permits .

Thanks speedy.....well looking at the older pics. of the car in another site (link found in Karl's thread) when it was maroon in colour, it did seem to have the hubcaps on....'wonder why they were taken off if they were original..

may be they got stolen and the owner was being lazy to get new ones as he does not use the car everyday. the other theory could be that he had removed them and forgotten where he kept them or just forgot to put them on.

There were a couple of vintage cars / bikes displayed in a suburban college today. Have taken a few pics but am not able to transfer them to my comp.
The bikes displayed were : Whizzer, Matchless, BSA, Ariel, Indian.
The cars displayed were : 1938 Morris 8, 1953 Dodge Kingsway, DeSoto Custom and another old Fiat.

All the cars / bikes belong to a single collector.

The bikes were'nt very well maintained / restored. They looked as if they had been painted just for the sake of it. Although the mech claims that all of them are in running condition. The emblems, registration plates and tail-lights were missing from all the bikes. Various parts of the engine and silencer were rusted.

The cars were much better maintained than the bikes, especially the Morris 8 and Dodge. All the parts on these cars looked original. The Dodge also had original wheelcaps with a hole drilled in the center (ouch....). The headlamps were orginal Lucas ones. There Fiat had a "pop pop" BEST horn and something that looked like an "art" headlamp glass.

When I saw the car the hubcaps were stowed away in the boot.

Maybe they were prone to falling off while running so they were taken off?
