The East Himalaya Vintage car rally 2022 is a 26 day rally wherein classic car enthusiasts from various countries of Europe have embarked on a 3950 KM long journey. The rally that began in Kolkata has traveled by road to our neighbouring country Bhutan and has now crossed the border back into India before it culminates in Myanmar.

The group was eager to see his collection and in pursuance of that, met him in Guwahati.

I got a call from Mr. Deka yesterday about this rally, but unfortunately, I wasn’t in Assam, so missed the opportunity of seeing these magnificent cars. However, Mr. Deka has been kind enough to send across these pictures:

The blue car appears to be a Lagonda to me and the black car seems to be an early Aston Martin. Experts please confirm:

Got a glimpse of the Healey 3000 and the 911 near Batasia Loop a fortnight ago. The 911 whizzed past, and could click only a poor parting shot of the Healey

Their exhaust notes were the ones to be heard on those mountains. Pure grunt and bliss.

I would just like to add a few words for the man himself, Mr.Picklo Deka.

Picklo da has single handedly collected an enviable collection of not only vintage vehicles but also antiques ranging from clocks to showcases and what not. His Treasured Wheels is undoubtedly a treasure and a mecca for automotive lovers.
He has painstakingly done and is doing all he can to revive and restore these heritage for the future generations to come.
He has not had the support he deserves and yet has done so much.
Treasured Wheels is relocating to Kaziranga and needs all out support, no matter in which way we can.

Wish him the very best in building TREASURED WHEELS to the heritage museum its destined to be.

Sorry for digressing from the topic of the East Himalayan Rally. It was indeed a treat to us and i saw some of the most iconic vehicles I've only seen in photos or tv till now.
