Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Hello all,

Just joined Team-BHP, but I've been following this thread from the outside for quite some time now. I'm currently in Mumbai and own an '85 Padmini. Since I'm not originally from Mumbai, I'm counting on your vast experience to help me out with any issues I might face with the car in future. I hope that's alright. And, if possible, I'd like to join you on one of your meets the next time around just to meet some like-minded people. Thanks!

Hi Richard, welcome aboard. Bombay always has been Fiat country, though now most spares sources have dried up with the phasing out of cabs. The club meets every few months now and then, but with the onset and summer and impending monsoon, I guess we would next meet only in the winter. Cheers.

Thanks! Yes, I've been running around everywhere scavenging and hoarding whatever parts I can find. I do need to find a good mechanic though somewhere in South Bombay.

And regarding the meet up, do let me know whenever it is you guys are meeting up next. I'm stashing my car away somewhere safe during the monsoon too.

Richard has a nice Padmini. I saw the car passing by a few days ago and was able to stop him and have a small chat.

This 1960s Fiat 1100 Superselect has been lying unused in a lane at Shivaji Park in Mumbai for quite a few years.
It was quite a clean car but has fallen apart over time such that all four tyres have now gone flat :(
Notice the Maruti 800 door handles that have been fitted for it.

Horniman Circle in Mumbai is a place where the car enthusiasts of Mumbai get together every Sunday for a quick morning meet accompanied by coffee or Bun-Maska

: This here is a 1985 Premier Padmini Deluxe and it is beautifully maintained! The owner was kind enough to have let me get some nice shots of his beautiful car!

Notice the white Fiat 1100D parked beside it. The 1100D is a left hand drive car and has a mad mad sounding exhaust! You've just got to be there to hear it

I came across this Black Fiat or early Premier Padmini in the Paradise Cinema lane recently. Seems to have come there for some repairs. Which model is this exactly? Can someone please confirm
