Nice to see this car again! It's been featured here earlier. I read that tis a 1-owner car and was originally white.

Sure, why not! 'managed to find what I felt were the best pics. of such a dash with the maximum clarity.
Note: While the most common speedo-cum-fuel guage on these cars was the white faced one, some cars also came with Black ones (both SMITHS made.)

I'll see if there are more I can hunt out!

Oh, and as they say one good turn deserves another, I'm sure we'd all appreciate pics. of the car in question in return!

The grill seems to suggest it's a flying standard!

Four-door StanHer in Mumbai!!

Spotted this four-door StanHer (Mark-III) at Santa Cruz in Mumbai today.

Parked outside a garage - obviously dolled-up for a quick sale.. They've put 'Triumph' badges galore, all over...
In fact (not visible in the photo) the bootlid actually has a "Deluxe-BE" badge from a Premier Padmini!!

How I wish people kept cars more stock.

Anyway, the good side is, that this way or that way, another Herald saved.

Looks kinda like a fire engine! LOL

And looks like the garage is a hardcore Triumph fan!

Most interesting part is the 2+2 Headlamp arrangement ala Vitesse!

But yes, glad that one more is saved.

Did Standard Heralds ever came with Smith's meters ,I thought they initially came with Jaeger meters succeeded by Yenkay ones.?

Yes sorry about that the early ones were British Jaeger. But somehow I also recall seeing a Smiths one long ago...? 'will check.

Incidentally I was also told that Jaeger was licensed from Smiths.

Oh yes! Didn't realize it - the 2+2 headlamp is very Vitesse..
So there appears to be a proper plan in place to 'Triumphize' this baby!!

Were there any four-door Triumphs at all, ever?

Four-door Triumphs yes. But not those from the Herald family. There was (and is) however, a Triumph-made prototype of the 4-door Herald (which eventually made it to our shores) surviving with Canley Classics, UK. The car was originally in a duotone colour, later painted in a single 'gunmetal' (greyish blue) colour:
