I recently found the remnants of the original keychain to my Pennant. I assume a leather base would have been attached. It reads "Schall Made in England" at the back. It is beautifully finished, and surprisingly heavy.

I have a smilar one for my Rover, but this one is exceptional because it has a profile different from the usual circular fob. The enameling on the British keychains is just superb.

Wow, manish!! Seeing a 4-door Herald after quite some time- and this one looks almost complete. Man, considering the number of Heralds seen around there, I sometimes wonder if I should move to B'lore?

Definitely a restorable car. Although definitely needs a proper stripdown and rebuild, going by the state of the body. I hope they do a good job.

Karl- nice keychain! You sure are lucky! 'never seen anything like it even among UK spares/accessories.

Arun,

Dash definitely is not original. Though originally they had wood based dashed it was never this colour. Originals were real wood venir based ply. I think this has been redone using some laminant like Formica/Decolem etc

Also the meter below the three light indicator combo is not standard. The Ampear Metre is extra as Heralds did not have one as original.

Again the Oil pressure gauge on the right side is extra. Actually the fuel gauge should have been where the Oil one is

The Cover to the Glove Box is also an addition. As Heralds had a open glove cubicle/box

The Recessed/Covered Fuel Filler is a modification. The lock on the hood release lever again is an extra

But on the whole a nice 4 door specimen.

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Ram

Thanks JayD!

To add further, this car is part of a small private collection in Coimbatore. I first assumed it was a 62 Herald. but looking at the bonnet vents now, I conclude its not. Yet it has the bootlid badge on the top centre, so must be something like a 63 mk1. A friend here has a similar Herald, which is a '63 model.
