Ah.. nice Stanher, Shyam bhai. So are you willing to take up this restoration job? Would be nice if you do as many restorations here are nearing completion.
BTW how's your Herald running.

I wont actually be taking it up (no time for now!) but I will be helping in where/when necessary.

My Herald's running superb. You can even find pics. of it in the 26th Jan rally!

Is this Gopal's garage? If so, i think this car belongs to another BHP-ian.

The white-maroon Mk1 looks to be in good shape except for a few rust spots. Even the dash looks original. But the fan

Wow, looks like one complete example! Yes, its a Bihar (most likely Patna) regn. which makes it surprisingly good for a Herald from that place!
With due respect to the owner, 'hope he has the good sense to preserve/maintain it that way though!

Interesting car that is! BTW, it would actually be a 60s car. Photo may have been taken in the '70s. Also it can be called HERALD I suppose!
Incidentally, Standard sounds rather ambigious as there were several models of them.

That's a common fitting on most old-gen Indian cars- these were in the pre-AC days, remember! 'looks like it was fitted way back then and just left on!

Re: Standard cars in India

Started seeing this Herald near my home since a few days. The roof appears chopped off. I promise you more and better quality pictures in coming days
