Hell has frozen over...we have an estate Herald in India? Im quite stumped. Whats the story with this car, do tell. There is a distinct possibility that the car is a relatively recent import.

the car has been with the gentleman from his fathers time and it is not a recent import. the guy has all the tools to repair the car and does it all himself. he had sent it once to have it done outside after that never.
the guy was nice enough to mention that the rubber or chrome strip that comes on the bumper was not available and he did not want to fabricate one so he had got it painted.

Terrific car that. I have had the pleasure of driving these standard cars for some time before they became extinct. My father owned a pennant, my uncles owned heralds. gazels & what not & i never thought of them to be anything better than the padminis. LOL

Not for faint hearts.

Warning:
Standard lovers do not read after this. If you are still reading you may have trouble atleast for a week thinking about it.
Well, I warned you. I too feel that I should not be writing this but atleast this would save some Standard somewhere in the country lying uncared.
Now the photos which I received recently.
The car was gone long back to the scrap before I established contact.
I don't think it is restorable stuff but still.....

It looks in a bad state but then you find these cars in such condition. It all depends on the persons love for them and would not mind spending that much to restore it, provided he finds the car before it reaches the scrapyard. The story with my Landmaster is the same. I found it in a bad state and was bound to go to the scrapyard. Friends said are you mad to buy that, but I had this car in my head how could i miss an oppurtinuty to own 1 when i had the chance.Right now its in the garage for the tin work.

Stampro I think the car is certainly restorable. So has it been scrapped or is it still around? Behram Dhabhar is looking for one desperately. Please find him one soon so he'll stop pestering me for my car

These are not abandoned(though they look like that!) and not for sale. The owner had plans for restoring them a long while back, but moved on to better cars i guess!! This is a MK1 Herald and a standard 10 i presume?

Yup, thats a Mk1 and an early 10. The 10 seems to be in very nice shape. Note the Herald has trim around the taillights. If its original to this particular car, it could be an import, as this trim was introduced in India much later.
