Slightly Off Topic, just passed by Mandvi Fire Station in Mumbai yesterday. Till say about 5 years ago, i used to see some fire engines with front styling similar to the one posted in post number 485. But yesterday saw 2 brand new Mercedes Actros on that place.

Would be apt to post pictures of this 1942 Chevrolet bus here.It was bought second hand by the transport company L.N. Gupta and Company, Nagpur in the 1950's and they have kept it in this beautiful condition and have named it Raj Mata - guess it was very lucky for the transport company's success.

@ Anjan,
This 1942 Chevrolet Bus is very nicely kept & very neatly done with all its interiors. The engine bay also looks very clean. Now a days its very rare to see these beauties.

I have seen one truck like this in Bhivandi which is also beautifully kept by the owner, but was unable to take the pics as I was traveling in a bus.

It has the inline 6 cylinder OHV petrol engine. But do not know whether OHV's were in vogue in the early 1940's in the US for trucks.
But all said and done the owner has really taken pains to preserve the beauty in this lovely condition for the bus at age 68 years!

Wow! Great to see this on my fav site. This truck was bought on behalf of the Nizam by my Grand Dad from London. The Nizam had commissioned him to start the Fire Service in Hyderabad. Srinath

A Bedford at Goa.

A superbly restored Dennis fire engine of the Poona Fire Brigade, still retaining its Rolls Royce engine and working equipment.

Also i would like to know about history of fargo trucks, any links of the same in the forum?

CB

The Fords were the first of the "new generation" trucks to come to India in the 1980s. They had a JV of sorts with Simpsons, Chennai

See the following thread in TBHP, which has some info

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/commer...cks-india.html

The MC Bus you are talking about with KLT Registration is even an older model. Body built by KeSRTC Central Works, Pappanmcode. That was on the Tata Mercedes Benz model with the 3 Point Star in front. This bus is not the model as shown in the photo originally put in by Foby and commented by Ajay

The type is exactly as can be seen in post # 395 of this thred posted by @urzdeepu. The Color combination was Coffee Brown/Black and Cream

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

Ram

MB Van in Andheri

Hi Guys,

Saw this MB Van parked in Marol military road. The car looked like it was with a scrap dealer (with some shops around that place). Could not find anyone to speak about it, clicked some pics though.

Mods pls move this if this is not the right place.

Cheers, slicks

do any one have an idea of a 8 seater bus called thronie craft , in 1913 the bus manufactured by thronie craft was bought by "the meenachil motor association" headed by Joseph Augusti Kayalackakom , It was the first bus to ply in the Trivandrum - Kollam route
