2. I remember seeing the Hazard warning blinkers on this Ford truck for the first time on an Indian built vehicle circa 1982.
I still remember the old Isuzu trucks. These were very powerful and used to bring huge granite rocks to Mangalore port for export from Hassan side.

There are a few Isuzu trucks in Bangalore also. Remember seeing it sometime back near RMC yard in Tumkur road.

Also Ben Ford trucks are still running in Bangalore and Mangalore. BBMP still has a Ben Ford truck.

Amit

On a lighter note, the buses (the private ones) had body almost like those seen in the 1944 pictures, at least until early 1980s (the aluminium pannels with the rivets showing very prominently and tarp side window curtains, ornate wooden window frames etc)

Best Regards &

Spotted this very rare, Tata Mercedes Benz 1210D truck that is used a a cargo carrier in Devrukh, near Ratnagiri.
The driver of the truck is very excited when I took the pics of the truck, told all the history of truck, the truck is bought by owner Mr. Jaya Shelke in 1973 from someone as secondhand truck in Ratnagiri & still its original 6-cylinder engine is not changed.

That is a surprisingly well preserved example, and you wont see them much longer. Note the sharing of name of Tata and Mercedes on the badge and meter - this is probably the only time in the history of Mercedes that it has shared its name with another partner - making these badges very collectable, especially to foreigners.

Whichever it was, the answer is no. The Dodge/Nissan Truck was much bigger and much more heavy duty than a Mahindra Jeep in width, track, wheelbase, wheelsize, weight, all metrics...
Spotted One Yesterday While Travelling.Sorry for the Delay and for poor quality image.from the registration ,this is notified as1980 Model LMV - GOODS CARRIER TRUCK MAHINDRA .
Is it a Modification Job? can find many of them in Kerala.

Awesome, but the thing is, these trucks have always made my hair stand up due to fear. They look so mean!

Also, see how the heat from the engine has melted the TATA-Mercedes-Benz logo.
