When did they change the BEST logo from English words "BEST" to Marathi (or rather Devnagiri)?

Does anyone know for sure?

My observations (based on bus sightings in Hindi cinema, and my own observations in my childhood) lead me to believe it must have happened over a period of years in early/mid 70's.

I saw this same cab last December in Ooty. I'm assuming all of these are dieselised?

Yep. They are dieselized.
This car supposedly does regular Bangalore-Mysore trips.
