Here's one for the road, hoping it's not a repeat.

Came back and added more.

Nice to see these, especially the PL170- it appears to have a different nose/horncast though- similar to the italian version. Maybe it was changed on the production models.
Also was surprised to see the ad with the Merc. W115 in it! 'was wondering when they were ever sold here, until I realises it was probably for the suitcases!!

Shyam, As you rightly say, this was a later version of the PL170. You will also notice the black horizontal line graphics on the front mudguard and rear engine cover.
The Merc advertisement was very common in the late 1970's and early 1980's.They showed that the suitcase is so very shatter proof!

Thanks for sharing Anjanji. The Krilo ad I love - the car is a Mercedes 116, swb, and the location I can see is the Gandhy's beautiful bungalow at Bandstand, Bandra, Mumbai.

Guys, are you aware there was a scandal surrounding this scooter's designation? It was a 100 CC scooter designated as PL-170 in order to confuse gullible buyers into believing that it had a 170 CC engine. The number "170" stood not for the engine displacement but the "P"ay "L"oad, hence the letters PL. I think the matter even reached consumer courts. Anyways, the scooter bombed in the market, what with consumers showing a clear preference for the "other" Vespa that LML was making.

1750 CC? That's news to me. There used to be two versions originally: 1500 CC and 1800 CC the latter available on order but which became OE fitment upon introduction of Nova model.

The original BMC 1489 cc engine was rebored to 1750 cc and this version on the Mark 3 was available in 1977 and 78.

Thanks. But HM always advertised this engine as 1800CC and along with power brakes, it was offered as an optional feature in 1977.

Sipani Montana (4-Door Version) - Brochure

Hi All,
Here is the brochure of Sipani Montana (4-Door version) which my brother from Pune sent across to me. Might be from early 1980's i.e. around 1982 or 1983.
Experts, please provide us the exact year if you can.

re: The Classic Advertisement/Brochure Thread

^^This was introduced immediately after the debut of the M800 - 1985 IIRC. But an utter flop, when compared to the Dolphin. The build quality was awful.
