Interesting to see the Mk II advertisement touting the improved steering.

I used to drive a friend's Landmaster; and always felt the steering was so much lighter than on our Mk III. Any comments from the experts ?

Prem,

I think in 1971-72 the steering did undergo a change. From the rack & pinion that was there until then, it got modified with inclusion of some ball bearing system. I don't remember now if it was a recirculating ball bearing system. Probably the HM Gurus here can explain better. I think they might have even brought back the Landmaster system in 1971-72

I don't recall what model your MK II was :(

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

The steering box of the Landmaster and Ambassador were different. The Landmaster had a straight civil pin in the steering column while the civil pin for the Ambassador was a bit tilted . This is why all old Ambassadors had the steering appearing moved away from the driver, with the steering a wee bit tilted towards the left. I saw this in many Ambassadors earlier and had thought that this was a freak manufacturing defect. But no, I confirmed from my mechanic who said it was true. He indeed started his acreer with an Ambassador dealership.

Lovely adds! I am myself into Bajaj scooters in general and Sunny/Bonnie in particular. Do you have more adds and/or brochures you would like to share (high resolution if possible, its nice to be able to read all the info)?

Thanks! I noticed that you have previously posted the cover page of Indian Auto from 1989, featuring, amongst other things, the Bajaj Sunny. Any chance of getting that article posted here as well?
