The 55 DeSotos have survived in much fewer numbers - probably sold fewer to begin with. I have not seen any of the 56 lineup (big fin) with DeSoto badging. Probably by then the cars were limited to Plymouth and Dodge.

A friend is looking to have a static American muscle car in a shoot. Won't be driven. Just part of the image.

Location Mumbai.

He is looking for, yes a Mustang, but most big blocks of the 1970s are good too.

Their last model - Lamby Polo was introduced in 1985 or so soon after which the API (Automobiles Products of India) was locked out around 1986-87 period. That was the end of Lambretta/Lamby in India

In fact, the two wheeler production at their Bhandup, Mumbai plant was shut down sometime in 1987. But the production of three wheelers from the API plant continued till the early 1990's. API also made OE and replacement market clutch plates for scooters and four wheelers.

The API plant closed down sometime in the early 1990's.
