The Premier 118NE (Nissan engine), was built on a version of the Fiat 124. PAL had a a partnership with Fiat right from the millicento times. The 118NE was considered to be a mid-size luxury car in India in the 1990s. It had two different gear shifts, column shift with bench seat in the front and the floor shift with bucket seats. The floor shift was more popular though.

Slight correction here; it was never sold commercially with the column-shift and bench seats. They were just R&D prototypes that never made it.
