are such cars allowed in rallys?
how are they judged if they are not original?

The taillights are original, and Im sure the wheels are too. Those look like clip on wheel covers to me.

The car was shot at the rally itself.

The taillights are not original. They are padmini taillamps, look at the tail fin made out to accomodate the padmini tail lamp.

The wheel covers is a center bolted one to a clamped bolted to diametrically opposite wheel nut.

One could get these for around Rs 100 in the mid 80's at Mullick Bazar. It was a fashion to have your car flaunt these, be it Amby or a Padmini.

btw the way - the fiat familiale in kolkata is LHD. and yup that is the car.

with Karlos Singh fiatwala again!

Googled for pics. of the same model after he told me the tail-lights are original and sure enough they are:

whoa I didnt know that that the padmini actually had a stationwagen version...looks pretty good indeed...infact I used to think that people built D pillar and the rear body onto existing cars by removing the boot..
