Some comments from Harit

Talking of manuals, I have just picked up a Mercedes Benz 230SL spare parts list, edition B stand as per November 1964. This was the Pagoda top car just like Fali Dondhi has. The book has been used, there are notations in it. But now the interesting part. Who were the Mercedes repair shops/dealers? United Motors! And was there another authorized workshops? Yes, Tata Garage which was located adjacent to United Motors at Hughes Road. Both are now gone, West End Store is there. But this manual has a rubber stamp of Wellington Mews Workshop, Wodehouse Road Telco Bombay. I did not know that they were such an advanced workshop to have such manuals. I did go there in the 1970’s and found it more like a relic. When it shut down and was to be demolished to make way for the new Taj Hotel, I picked up three cars from there, a Fiat 600, a Ford Falcon Station wagon and the remains of an Austin 7 for spares. Does anyone know how this agency of Mercedes Benz was shared by these three United, Wellington and Tata Garage? By the way, during the last London Sydney Rally we had an opportunity to meet up with the Mercedes cars at Borivali and escort them to United Motors Workshop where we were allowed to hang around. My speaking German did help!

Ford C-4/ C-5 Automatic transmission -Rebuild manual-FORD

I have with me a shop manual which is an Original Ford Publication for Rebuild/Overhaul of C-4 and C-5 automatic transmissions. Any one planning a Automatic Transmission rebuild should go through this. It is very informative and useful. I can send a photocopy if somebody needs it.

Hi Dominator,
I've just seen the collection of book you have. If you are willing to part with a few (even photo copies welcome), i'd love to know. Especially the Ford Jeep, Noton Dominator and Bsa books.

Found some books that i thought i had lost. The First one is plainly Titled-Rolls Royce. It has a Detailed history of all RR cars till mid 1980. If anyone wants references, they are welcome to have a look at the book.

The Second one is this very very Color Treasury of Motor Racing. Makes a very interesting Read.

The Third one, i picked up yesterday. It has a Detailed history of hot-rodding and its developements.

1962 Fiat 1100 Instruction Book

To all you Fiat Lovers!

When we purchased our 1962 Fiat 1100 Deluxe we found the Instruction Book for the Standard, Deluxe and Family Cars, a great resource and felt it might be of interest to other Fiat Owners.

Hopefully I will be able to upload the entire booklet of 64 pages shortly.
Will try a few pages to check out the best way.

John
