Nice to see the discovery. But is this being left to the mercy of nature or do they have any plans in store to restore or sell it?

Dear all - The car in Nasik is MRX4470 - The son of the owner of the car used to work where I am working. I met him yesterday. A thorough gentleman, he used to have a Ford Anglia (Karl, please post a photograph. I want to know what it looks like). The select is not for sale. I informed him about our club and we have decided to start in Nasik. We (his idea, me concurring) invite all of you to Nasik for the first event. Let's see how it works out. And yes Kavesh, it has crossed the threshold by a huge margin. No point in undertaking restoration which he also knows.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Dear all - yesterday was a "very good evening" in Nasik. Saw a red herald, a 1942 or something Ford Jeep (buggered up with a Mazda engine, you know how it is) and a landmaster being done up, all in different garages within walking distance of each other. Good Good.

Dear Ravi - your above query, "threshold" means that once the car slides below the boundary where it can be restored, there is usually no point. Hope I have clarified. 3112 was well above it so purchased for restoring.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Some 15 years ago, a whole fleet of doddering Chevrolet Fleetmasters used to ply as black and yellow taxis in Nashik especially on the Nashik Trimbakeshwar route. these were fitted with Matador diesel engines.
Dabhar Behram- you'll be surely able to comment as to whether these still survive or have been scrapped. It beyond anybody's expectations to expect these 1947-48 (60 plus year olds) still plying in Nashik.

See what I found in Nasik. There are now 4 known super selects in Nasik (which includes MRY3112). The others are MRX4470, MRA4805 and MRZ5582. The ambassador belongs to a parsi gentleman who is ex army. It is a 1961 model and is beautiful but needs bodywork and restoration. It is NOT for sale.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar

Coincidentally all 4 appear to be B'bay reg'd cars!

The Ambi is lovely. It doesnt look like it needs any work on first glance though!!

Also, the 1100 appears to be a select. It doesnt have the quater-glass. Also, is it on Padmini Bumpers??
