Pictures captured during the filming of Sea Wolves a 1980 war film starring Gregory Peck, Roger Moore and David Niven shot on location in Goa. The film is based on the book Boarding Party by James Leasor, which itself is based on a real incident which took place in World War II. The incident involved Operation Creek, the Calcutta Light Horse's covert attack on 9 March 1943 against a German merchant ship, which had been transmitting information to U-boats from Mormugão Harbour in neutral Portugal's territory of Goa.

The car was used by Lt. Governors and Governors after the Portuguese left. The Portuguese Governor General's Palace is still used by the Governor today.

The owners have 2 of these cars. They take them out once in a while.

The Austin looks to be very well kept, it's in my opinion perhaps a 1933/34 Austin 12 Harley. It seems to be very well maintained.
Tyres however are a little out of place, they look like Michelin motorcycle tyres to me though I could be wrong. The 21" tyres are generally quiet hard to find and in India its invariably substituted with motorcycle tyre( if it's black , round and of the correct size I would use it&#128556.
I am little amazed that the Royal family in Goa decided to have an Austin in addition to all their other car, because Austin cars were more for the common man and did not have an elitist charm about them , they were however extremely reliable and affordable and thus appealed to the masses .

Hey nice pics! My mom knows them very well so I had the opportunity to visit their place and also took a tour of their paradise. The owner is a gentleman and a genuine car guy. He inspects the cars himself. The owner told me he was going to restore the Austin and the Merc soon and he did what he said it seems!

I had clicked a couple of pics in 2012-2013. All I can say is the W123 and W124 is immaculate and factory fresh.

Interesting to hear about their classic car collection in India, was unaware of this. They do own a 300SL in UK and about a dozen odd modern-day Ferraris around the world.

Last week few KVCCC Members visited the Mr Deshprabhu, the Pernem Royal. The cars were trucked to Belgaum and the driven to Goa for a few days at sunshine and fun.
