This DKW looks familiar, one of the two I have probably seen. Is this now stored somewhere in Verna?

You should restore this car, its a very cute car. I think this is a late 1950's model.

Do let me know where you will undertake the restore will surely drop by.

That is actually not a DKW but an Auto Union 1000 sedan, the precursor of the Audi.

There was an identical car almost with teh same colours in Hyderabad too with a old Christian Gent who was into music.

Does anyone know where his car is now.

My friend Zozy used to look after the car for him.

DKW was a part of Auto Union. This one came with a 2 stroke engine which had DKW written on it.

You are correct but the car was marketed as an Auto Union. The engine etc was a carry over from pre Auto Union DKW.

Its a three cylinder two stroke unit with independant ignition coils for all three cylinders

Thats correct. It was indeed called a Auto Union.

Another interesting bit is the Auto Union 4 door saloon came with front suicide doors and the 2 door came with a pillarless normal doors.
