My favourites- The Hudson (loving that shape!!), the Impalas, and the 57 1100 (I am ignorant as to the wrong details, I just think it looks very beautiful), and the pontoon.

Has anyone got more pics of the Fiats at the rally?

And the DBS is really depressing......I guess its parts cost a bomb.

As Karl mentioned earlier, an Alfa sported this tag on its rear....

The Majestic line up

A different look at the Rally...all Starry eyed

There were some celebrities (??!!) who came to cheer the participants..

Like the Derby, this event also had its share of fashionably dressed enthusiastic people who came to witness the Rally in their finery. Some were participants and others just enthusiasts and admirers of the beauties made of Metal

...Carrying on from where we left...

Starting him on an early age..Bada and Chota Viper..

Similar young enthusiasts

Apna Dippy was not far behind...sporting a Ferrari T-shirt. (I couldnt read if it said "Maine Chalaya")

Network follows...yahan bhi??!!Had heard about Hutch now Vodaphone that their network follows you everywhere...but this is ridiculous...!!!

There were cases of badly restored or made to look presentable cars.
No worries as I think its the spirit that counts.
The owner of this Standard had displayed his car in this condition. (It was there even a day earlier for the Judging) Note the rough paint (Hand painted??) surfaces to cover up missing bits or rust pitt.

Now for a closer look

Sporting the 1st Gen Maruti seats....

...and tyres with crevices in them, with hand painted white walls

Not to mention this 47 Ford with a diesel engine and a Jaguar Mascot as its hood emblem with a "Ford" plate below it...I tell you!!

Instead of focussing on Ambys, Bad Standards & Indian Fiats, it would have been nicer to have a look at other cars. I know that Bombay has some great ones .

Well, a look at the lighter side is always welcome. You can find plenty pics of some very well restored cars too. A major grouse I had was no opportunity to photograph the Wolseleys, Type K, Caddy V8 and other imposing and hence crowd drawing cars. We make do with whatever we could capture amidst the cramped spaces and crowds.

Well, there are 3 in Bombay that I know of, perhaps there are more too.

There was a nice one that recently came to Pune from Dehradun, DLJ regd I think. It was personally maintained (including painted!) by the previous owner for over 60 years.

Plus this car is in Bangalore.

So that makes 5 cars Im aware of. Go on, dig out some more.

Their website still says,
