Ah! so you did make it to see Ananth's collection. So it was not so difficult to get up early on a Sunday after all, as you feared.

The bumpers are the same for the car as well as the Estate. Can any of the BHPians please help me with contacts with Second Hand Item dealers in Mumbai, Coimbatore, Hyderabad Bangalore ? I have tried in Chennai, Lucknow & Calcutta-no luck

You can almost surely get a set suprisingly cheap in the UK. The Standard Motor Club can source them for you. (Standard Motor Club Home Page). The big issue of course is getting them down here. If nothing turns up in due course locally, I would recommend you get them down from there, with adapted/modified bumpers the restoration would be pointless.

I contacted Ajay. The car there is an 1952 Phase II EState,.Owner wants to sell it in as is where is condition for 80K. In any case, the owner is neither prepared to sell the bumpers nor will they suit my car

You will need to become a member of said club first, spares or even restoration advice are not available to non-members (although I dont see what is the cost in giving the latter!)

The process is quite slow as you cant do it online, you'll need to download the membership form, fill it & send it to them via post......takes some time for the registration.

You can contact Phil Homer here. webmaster@standardmotorclub.org.uk
Give him my reference, and he will put you through to the spares officer for Vanguards. (I forget who is currently holding the position).

I think its Ian Legget. However, he has made it very clear that spares are not available to non-members.

Haha, that would be me!!

How could you own both a Triumph AND and MG, if you own one by definition you hate the other.

I take it the Triumph doesn't start and on the off chance that it does would only go for about 2 minutes before you need to call the tow truck?

Joking aside, you have a nice collection there...
