re: Classic Rolls Royces in India

The Nawab of Bhopal's Phantom III 3BU86 sold at Bonham's auction, Carmel, California yesterday for a mere $US852,500. A high proce but the car is superb, with a great restoration for the twins Kenneth & Keith Sherper.

Is GBM 67 a 20 HP ? Is that the car with the Paddon Coachwork and was in the training institute in Indore , off white colour

3TM is well known as many now have the snaps of the car ! since it surfaced on the block a few times recently thru the notorious brokers. Will check if I have those snaps.

Cheers

Yes, GBM67 is a 20 H.P. ; originally a Hooper Tourer. "The Twenty" lists a British Colonel as first owner - no India reference.

I believe it was to fill in the blanks for the person who asked the details in the first place .

As stated by you it's hooper but does anyone know the whereabouts of the RR 20 Hp of Indore with the Paddon Coachwork ? Just curious !

Cheers

re: Classic Rolls Royces in India

Yes GBM67 in Hyderabad as well, location known to many, I think an NDA with RR owners is appreciated by all here...by questioning I wantd to ask the experts on this forum, if they have been any modified, rebodied or an engine change to them, All surviving RRs with pedigree and Royal provenance are known to us here. Cheers!

re: Classic Rolls Royces in India

This famous advertisement for Rolls Royce appeared in the Times of India annual of 1939

I think the illustrated chassis is #GUL80, a very handsome Gurney Nutting bodied 25/30hp. It was last seen in Finland, being exported early on, recorded being in the UK in the early 1950s.
