![]() @Indrojit.No offence intended, but since you already corrected yourself, may I take the liberty to mention,it is Duesenberg, not Duesenburg. With all the fantastic work you and others like yourself do on the restoration front, I am sure a couple of typos can be overlooked. ![]()

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Last week I visited the Cavalry Tank Museum in Ahmednagar to see the famed Rolls Royce Silver Ghost armoured car. The setting is beautiful, spread over a large area with green surroundings - a treat for the eyes. There are around 45 exhibits from all over the world including Germany, Canada and even Japan. Most are in a sorry state of preservation, the worst of which is the Rolls, though we should be grateful that we even get to see this much. The engine block (and possibly internals) are all that remain under the bonnet - with all anciliaries missing over the years. Not too much history is known about this particular car. I hunted all over for any commission no. plate, but there is none to be seen. It even has no steering gear. I doubt this rare car could ever be restored given the circumstances and kind of funds it would require. |

![]() What a sad sight, this car deserves to be in far better condition...BTW is this a private tank museum as in a private collection?

![]() Nice to see the RR Armoured Car. They do paint it quite often from the looks of it.

![]() What an awful awful sight! I visited the tank museum more than a decade back and I remember things being in a much better state. The problem with government museums is not the lack of money - in fact - they have too much of money for their own good. Its the lack of any kind of expertise regarding preservation and maintenance. So what happens is that some Johnny comes along every once in a while and then orders the sloshing of paint all around. I'll try and locate the photos I took of the armoured car. A comparison would show what has been lost over the years. I still believe it can be put back on the road and it must.
