What a treasure. This must be the largest RR collection still surviving with an erstwhile royal family in India? Should think so. How many RR's remain in the Faridkot collection?

Would you know who in Jaipur is doing the restoration?

Rolls Royce -Phantom -Spotted

I was in Batra Petrol Pump near Ambassador Hotel, New Delhi on 20th December and a Rolls Royce - Phantom, probably a 1935/36 came in to get petrol filled. I am uploading a few photographs which I could take from my mobile phone. Admiring the car is the famous Mr.Navinder Singh, whose Green Beetle is in the background.

Referring to te last two segments
I understand that Faridkot may not have any Rolls right now, but someone can check. They surely have military machinery and Packards

The red Rolls could be the Modi car, restored by Manvendra Singh Barwani. Mustangman can comment.

Harit I remember reading once there were 2 Jags, a Bentley and a RR (possibly a Silver Wraith) along with a couple of Jeeps, two 50's Packards and some aircraft.

There was a video available which showed the aircraft in a palace garage.

I also remember reading most of these cars were in Mashobra near Shimla and there had been a fire or something. Later I think the cars were shifted back to Faridkot to be part of a museum. Thankfully I think this collection is a part of a trust so it may remain intact.

I hope this is the correct way to post this. If not, please let me know.
I own a 1933 Phantom II Continental by J Gurney Nutting and the build sheet lists 'Connecting up Savigear'. My question is who or what is Savigear? I have asked on the RROC, RREC and RROCA sites but no-one knows. Since so many Rolls-Royce cars went to India, I am hoping someone on the forum may know the answer.
Kind regards,

Having the chassis number will help one of our many experts trace it. Cheers

I still feel that this Rolls is the Modi car, restored by Manvendra Singh Barwani. Mustangman?

BTW, I went through some pics in Roopgill's site. Have to go through it at leisure, but I have noted that Mehra Uncle's car is a Ford T, not A. He was a regular at the vintage rally's upto the 1980's, perhaps mid 80's when he got busy and stopped comming. As far as I remember, he came only once more in between. Often that used to be the earliest car participating. The wheels were modified to Ford A wheels, again tyre issues. Better than motorcycle wheels!

[quote=DKG;965785]Ahh you seem to know me well now Ofcourse Berar was a part of the Nizam's dominions with Prince Azamjah and Princess Durrehshevar, son and daughter-in-law of the sixth Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan refered to as the Prince and Princess of Berar.

DSG. Hate to be the one to point out but the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad was HH Mahbub Ali Khan and the seventh Nizam was HEH Mir Osman Ali Khan.

Also Berer was a part of the Nizams empire till 1903 when it was annexed to the Central Provences by the British.

The Nizam made repeated claims for restoration of Berar to Hyderabad with the British but to no avail. In flustration and after falling out with his son Azam Jah and appointing his grandson , Mukarram Jah as his successor, gave Azam Jah the title of "Prince of Berar"

He was the first and last person to carry this title.
