Thank you travancore!

By the way, Gentile lists all the continental chassis in his book and where they were at the time of publication. I see that four to five continentals came to India. I can list them out if it hasn't already been done.

Kind regards

re: Classic Rolls Royces in India

Kasli shared these ads from the October 1970 issue of Motor Sport

Classic Rolls Royces in India-img_4644.jpg

The Phantom III I assume is the Rajpipla car 3BU198, which I don't think ever came to India.

Classic Rolls Royces in India-img_4645.jpg

The Jaipur Phantom II I assume is 89MW the Hooper 'ducktail'
The Jaipur Phantom III I assume is 3BU76 the Barker Sedanca deVille
I cannot find the third car attributed to Jaipur - can find a Barker Tourer, but nor a Hooper.

I think the Hooper tourer is 45AL, in 1990 it only had 35,000 miles on the odometer.

Here is a 1923 20hp on display at the GD 'Gedee' Naidu museum in Coimbatore. Chassis no GH7 I think, delivered new to a H Wood (?) with a Landaulette body from Rippon Bros. Presently wearing open Tourer coachwork (in a barrel sided style?).

Yes, it is GH7 as far as I know. I thought the body was pretty well executed.

Do not know why the press refers to it as a "Mysore" car - maybe they got it confused with the Hispano Suiza!

The current body on the car was recently imported from the UK, having seen it , I agree, it is very well proportioned and pleasing to the eye.

I am not sure if we have seen this picture on the forum

Frank Ronald Campbell Rae was the personal driver first for Lord Richard Casey, who was the Governor of Bengal from January 1944 to February 1946, and then for Lord Louis Mountbatten, who was the last Viceroy of the British Indian Empire in 1947, and the first Governor-General of independent India 1947-48.

Yes we have (Post 1894). It is a PII, Chassis 129RY. The post shows a Front 3Q view. The car is not in India.

RR PI, Chassis 122HC and a Chevrolet Suburban from the movie Elephant Walk, initially shot in Ceylon.

Vivien Leigh fell ill during the making; and was replaced by Liz Taylor. Other pics on the web too.

Yes, belongs to YZP. Is this the same Silver Cloud which was silver a couple of years back and has been repainted now? Or does YZP owns two different Silver Cloud's?

I think he does own a couple of 'em.

I may be corrected on this.
