This Derby Bentley is a 1935 3 1/2 litre, Chassis number #B24 BN Engine number #J6BR with a very rare body by the French coachbuilder Antem of Paris (one of only 3 built on this chassis) it is a Drop Head Coupe and its first owner was Nicky Embiricos, it now belongs to the Thackersey family. Anyone who can add any intervening history please do.
This car is otherwise known as the reddish brown one.
It appears to have lost it's sidelights.

Wonderful photos Speedy, keep them coming. Thank you for sharing.

Not any more. She has since been given a silver colour, black mudguards are retained.

particularly elegant ! Stunning I'd say. Wow what style. Jeez the thrities must have been a riot in India with these stunning machines seen brand new on Indian roads. Would have loved to be a teenager in 1930!

I can't seem to recollect what Manvendra Singh once mentioned about the Rampur Bentley. I think he knows its fate. Will check with him when I meet him next. Unless MustangMan can check for us

B 24 BN has a lovely body too, pity the present colour doesn't do it justice

Speedy you have made my week!!!
The think the first photo is looking very much like:
1935 Derby Bentley 3 1/2 litre B197 BL Gurney Nutting DHC of the Nawab of Rampur
Do you have a side view? The front mudguards doors etc look the same. A very lovely car.
Here’s an original photo. Confirmation required.

The 2nd photo looks to be the Indore W O Bentley 3 litre (unknown chassis#) a photo of which was posted by Harit in post #94 of this thread.
Thank you Speedy!!!

Not that I know anything about Bentleys but Julian don't those headlights look odd? Are they the originals?

Julian it is the same car. i dont have pictures of the side View with me. but i have seen them. the rear tyres have the body cover and are not naked like in the side view picture you have posted, otherwise just the same. the picture u have posted is of the same car in the Garage. see the number plates of both cars CIN 410. the emblems on the grill are also the same. the car is very lovely to look at and a complete stunner.

I don't think so, but they are not as odd as the dynamo drive pulley arrangement which is a total abomination!! When you next see it open the bonnet. It needs removing as soon as possible!...
I took photographs of the car and others there, but unfortunately.... was unceremoniously not permitted to keep them....a very odd visit to a wonderful collection, and I still don't feel comfortable about it to this day..

Thank you Speedy for your very valuable photo contributions.

Most of the India Derby Bentleys seem to have survived, there is a possibility that one more has survived, the 1937 4 1/2 litre Vanden Plas tourer Chassis No.#B185 HM Engine no. E9BF 1st owner Raja Sahib of Nilgiri is apparently in New Delhi. Can anyone provide any information?

From what I understand the other 8 litre Bentley was owned by the late Ronnie Khan, and is hearteningly still retained by the family. It is being restored at Kundanmal's on Peddar road, who also did his Lancia. If I remember correctly, the car was featured on NDTV Good Times "All about my car honey" as well, where Rishad Kundanmal described the car as being fitted with a kit (I forget the name, started with M) which meant a 3 carb set up, besides other goodies.
