Daimlers in India
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vintage-cars-classics-india/37599-daimlers-india-2.html)
The first 2 photos of the cars came from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. This is their website
Jaguar Heritage Trust As these organisations hover in a cloud of authority and research archives I suppose its a case of innocent until proven guilty.:)
But I understand what your feeling about Rolls-Royces and Bharutpur.

Is BMX 707 a double six? That bonnet looks a mile long!
Here is the Sanghi Daimler, a massive beast and apparently one of very few in the world (if I remember something like one in four?). I vaguely recall Mr. Sanghi telling us it was a King George edition or something like that. Perhaps some of the Daimler enthusiasts can shed more light on this car

So just to confirm from previous discussions, this is BRG 4?
The 1936 car looks like a Straight Eight
BRG 4 Looks like it might be the same car as in the Sanghi collection. It appears to have regained its spare wheel.
BRG 4 had aluminium welding on the front of the left hand cylinder head. It is difficult to see in the Sanghi photo though you can see it clearly in the Delhi rally photo.
The left photo is the Delhi Rally photo

From what I understand Dr Ravi Prakash has been sourcing and distributing (a few) tyres for classics as well from abroad. Im sure this must have been an old photo, (I got it from the Pakistan club website I think) as the car recently made an appearance in the Bangalore rally with correct tyres.
Dear Karl,
Ravi is the agent for Coker TYres of USA.These tyres are quite expensive 10-12k each.

I was told a classic in Pune recently got new Firestone whitewalls at 25k each. Remember there are twin sidemounts, which makes it a lakh and a half on tyres! And I cribbed when Ceat Safety Drive 5.20-14 tyres for my Fiat went up by a princely 200 rupees to 1750 each:D
Dunlop Chevrons, bead edge 895 x 135 are now £446 each, so with two spares = 6 tyres that’s £2676 = Rs 2,114,04 +shipping + import duty…. Is it still 140%? = :Frustrati and then you find they are made in India:)
I just imported 2 Coker white motorcycle bead edged tyres and it cost about £440 = Rs 34,760

The Ravi Prakash Lanchester Straight 8 was originally owned by Motilal Nehru and then bought by a British Official in Madras...so goes the history
There is something unusual about the body... Look at the contour of the door tops and the deck of the rear of the car.. ???
