Moreover if am not wrong the OHV engines started off in the chevy even in 1926.
The car could have been like this one, originally. This is a 1931 Chevrolet AE Independence from conceptcarz.com.
It indeed is an OHV engine here.

But the originality of the 1929 Chevrolet from Hyderabad's engine has to be checked though.

Re: Unidentified Vintage and Classic cars in India

Wow that is Lovely!!! . The Chevies from 1929 to 1933 are my Favorites even though they are usually a termite city when unrestored. Fisher bodies were full of wood in those days and it takes a great deal of work to rebuild one. The 6 engine was essentially the same right up to 1950,when the power glide equipped sixes were the redesigned pressure fed engine. Known as the blue flame ,they are another great engine and can be bolted into the earlier cars very easily. ZTo tell them apart, the early six has a side plate on the right hand side, and the later engine doesn't along with a smooth rocker cover.

Help identifying a beauty

Hi,
A few years back, I spotted this beauty at a homestay we were staying at in Pachmarhi. Can someone help me identify her? Somehow missed talking to the owner about the car and ever since, I've been curious about what her name is .

Looks like a Singer Nine of the mid-1930s to me.

Re: Help identifying a beauty

If I remember right, the owner is an old friend of my uncle, who had identified it as an early MG. But yes, could be a Singer.

Re: Help identifying a beauty

Thanks guys.
That's the owner, all right. He regaled us with stories of Pachmarhi Ghosts one chilly evening!
A couple more shots I have of the car. Unfortunately, no profile shots.

Re: Unidentified Vintage and Classic cars in India

Mohaan has the correct vintage. Not a 46 but probably 47 or 48. The emblem on the rear portion of the hood identifies it as the later models. Whether it is a stylemaster or fleetmaster depends on views of the interior, noting the functional side vent window for the rear passengers, and noting whether the dome light, steering wheel, and dash accoutrements are fancy or plain. There was also a Fleetline in convertible or fast back configuration.

That pretty number is a Fiat dicky seat (Roadster?) from the 1920s. Owned by our own bulldogji, it was on display at the Turf Club. More images here https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/vinta...18th-21st.html (Vintage Cars and Bikes display at Turf Club Mumbai - April 18th - 21st)

On close inspection at the venue this car seemed less original but well restored. Whoever did the resto went for some period american roadster, dusi type over chromed look. Things like to fiat Center caps on the wheels and the side lights on A pillar etc. The wheels to did not seem what this car came with/ accurate. But the resto and look seemed decent...until I saw the plaque on the car saying FIAT

You are quite observant. This car and more on another one were discussed in great detail on this forum before, these cars were altered and made to appear older. Anyway that is now past and I will not post the link, though I have found it.
The owner rarely uses this car.

Cheers harit
