Jeep Willys

I spotted this Willys Jeep near my place. I believe this Jeep is in running condition as I have seen her a few times on the road, it is owned by a FNG owner.

Not bad, any details on the engine etc...

I am not so sure about the engine, but it did sound like a diesel engine. I also did spot this car on the move today, so I am pretty certain it is in running condition. Let me see if I can strike a conversation with the owner about the condition of the vehicle, engine etc.

If I am not mistaken this was on sale in OLX some time back. The advt mentioned petrol tough.

I've been wondering recently, how and when the old Willys MBs/Ford GPWs with the 9-slot grille and the smaller headlamps came into India. Anybody here have any ideas about this?

Looking at whatever slightly visible of the front cross member on the frame one can say it's a Ford. The Willys had a tube cross member and Ford an inverted c section type rectangular one.

Is this a genuine Willys MB?

The most obvious give away is in the first image - The missing 2H/4High/4Low Levers. It is a 'Put Together' vehicle.
