Congratulations for the new Willys, hope it serves you well. Always had a soft spot for jeeps finished in that blue shade (Caribbean blue if I’m not mistaken). Would love to read more on the mechanical side of things. Here’s another beautiful specimen of that blue -

Re: Jeep Willys

My 54' Willys cj3b restored back to its glory!! It took us while to restore but kept it as original as possible. Looking to add a cj3a or even better a M38a1 to the collection. Please tag if you got any leads.

Hello Sanjeeth,

I must admit that the restoration done is of top quality, taking care of plating the hardware and detailing small parts as well Kudos to that.

There could be many things that a Jeep expert can point out in your current jeep. I am not an expert but I have 2 suggestions looking at pictures -

1.) The engine bay should have a clip to hold the spark plug cables as per attached picture

Jeep Willys-aa8.jpg

2.) The dashboard should have 5 Gauges and switches as per the below picture which would be correct for the 1954 Jeep.

Again these are just suggestions for you. The jeep do looks awesome and I have downloaded them as reference for my own 65 restoration.

Re: Jeep Willys

I can't for the life of me understand why seasoned journalists are unable to gain the right experience. For the uninitiated, Randeep Hooda, the actor purchased one of these assembled 'Willyz' vehicles from Punjab. Nothing vintage about it.

One journalist, Shantonil Nag, in Cartoq who calls himself Motoring Journalist And Enthusiast With Over 11 Years Of Experience writes "Randeep Hooda’s new car is a rare Willys Jeep". https://www.cartoq.com/randeep-hooda...e-willys-jeep/ Of course its not. Total, absolute and unadulterated fake news on a vehicle.

There is nothing vintage or historical about this particular army disposal assembled vehicle owned by Randeep. The closest one gets is well it is still a 22-23 year old army disposal vehicle. There is no other heritage or vintage value.

And now we have a video by the famous auto journalist Renuka Kirpalani who falls for the same trap with the same vehicle and the same actor in an episode of Mashable India. She and this episode of Mashable India youtube channel is over the same fake Willyz owned by Randeep Hooda.

Randeep has one of these army disposal (which, in all honesty, he says is assembled with a Toyota engine) but the auto journalist, Renuka and the production crew are all drooling over 'Willyz' when it clearly is not. They should have given a disclaimer or spoken in the beginning that it is an army disposal Mahindra with a Toyota engine and has been 'put together'. The Jaat boy does say so but not the journalist and the entire episode has the anchor and the crew salivating over and showing different angles of a 'put together' vehicle.

Imagine buying Lakhani or Campus or Action sneakers and getting 3 strips by the local cobbler to masquerade as Adidas and then talking about the rich history of those specific Adidas sneakers!!

Or better still imagine Roger Federer sitting at Wimbledon wearing a fake Rolex and saying 'it doesn't tell time it tells history' and how vintage his particular Rolex is.

It is blasphemy. It is sacrilege.

Re: Jeep Willys

Hi,
I am new to this forum.
My dad bought a 1942 Willys MB which he sold back in 2015. It was found it in a bad state and my dad restored it with original parts from the US. Here are a few pics of it:

The more I look at this fascinating Jeep, it seems the chassis is Ford and the body a mix of Ford and Willys.
