PCT was one of the major bus transport fleet operators in Palakkad in those days, not sure if they still exist. In those private buses in Kerala were run by fleet operators unlike today where they are run mostly by single bus operators. And they all used to have their automobile workshops where you could see a variety of cars, of different makes and ages undergoing repairs. The other fleet operators in Palakkad included ABT, Kandath Group, TBT, Mayil Vahanam (Shornur), a bus service owned by Mr Ratnam (from Pollachi who owned sugar mills there, wound up bus services in the 1960s), etc., most of which are defunct now.
I do remember there was a petrol pump at the entrance to the PCT office, vaguely remember it was Burmah Shell. I think the petrol pump is still there (Is it the junction of Market Road and cross road to BEM School? Can't remember the road names, I was a little kid then!).

This chocolate red twin headlight Herald convertible was a Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala, car. Remember seeing the car in Kozhikode in the 70s. It then belonged to (Late) Kariyil Ravi, a member of a prominent family in Kozhikode of the yester years. It had the original Herald grille in those days (which seems to have changed in the photo) and had a covertible top that looked similar the original Triumph Herald soft top. It was possibly a Standard Motors distributor fitted soft top (not a later conversion with locally made sticks!). According to my understanding, Standard Motors never officially sold convertible Heralds in India but I think some distributors may have provided the convertible option to customers who requested for it. In the 1970s (and possibly 1960s) there were a few Herald convertibles in Kozhikode most of which were likely scrapped in the 1980s and 90s. I could not see the details of this car KLD 8811 in the Kerala MVD site when I searched for it a few years ago.

Re: Classics of Travancore, Cochin and Malabar

Three Sixties Classic cars from a Malayalam movie starring Ratheesh and Mohanlal. The white car is a Chevrolet, and the red 2 door convertible is a Chevrolet impala. does the lhd convertible survive ?

Credit to the owner indeed! Citroen's hydropneumatic suspension was radical for its time and the only criticism levelled against it by the motoring press was to say "Citroen loves complexity for its own sake". It was a British scribe naturally!

Yes. this was imported from UK and had working trafficators.
Even the present Double deckers have a metal trafficator replica(non working) to add to the classic look
