Nice pictures. This is a Kaiser Manhattan of about 1947.
Which brings me to a thought, who were the dealers for this company? Quite a few Kaisers, Frasers came to India, and they seem spread all over India. Gondal still has one, this was in Kerala, Mumbai had one which went to Chor Bazar, Kolkata had a burnt example, well spread out in India.

I have a photo of a car in a showroom on Marine Lines which also sold radios(Philco). But were they the dealers? I wonder.

Cheers harit

This car was troubling me, as I could not identify it. My Dad took one look and identified it as a 1946-47 Nash. Google baba also confirmed it

Thanks Foby !!
Here is yet another machine..not a classic or vintage though...will be at " God's Own country" from the day I clicked on....
spotted at Trivandram district entrance, was carried away from Chennai to a well known Big Time Automobile collector !!
I was thrilled to see such a monster being acquired by a civilian for his collection
Here are the pics>>

All the 4 front wheeled synchronized Steering>>

Chased the lorry, stopped him & clicked>> ( As the Driver & the person in-charge asked me not to reveal the ownership details...keeping my fingers on my lips ......But I don't smoke Beedis or cigars!!)
Cheers!!
KMK
ps: Any Off road gurus can throw some light, whether this kind of machines can be picked from De fence apart from the regular Mahindra Jeeps & Trucks

Wow a Soviet Union BTR-60?. Notice how the twin half hatch plates are in open position and show the propeller.

I am not an off road guru, but i believe that one can acquire such vehicles provided one has a museum registered, in any case i think when they auction these out they are given without the engine. You will be able to confirm whether this brute has the engine on it or not. great shot!

Thanks for enlightening me
The Vehicles dept manager told me there are TWO Engines (bit confusing!!), only some EXPLODING DEVICES ( in some colloquial term) & Some Instruments was removed from the machine by the Defense authorities .
Here is the Lorry driver's statement : The weight of this Brute was 20 Tonnes & was Pushed into his lorry by a civilian dosser & was able to steer it..unbelievable!!!
