Hi Pavan,
Ameen reached kollam today morning. He will be here win my office in 15 mins. Will update the current ownership status. Actually Ameen is now in Chennai doing his DM, so coudn't keep touch with the latest position.

Yes. Ameen is here with me right now. CONFIRMED. The Impala is SOLD in B'lore. Good to hear that the beetle restored by you is completed. He isn't planning to go for alloys as it will hamper the original looks.

Re: Classics of Travancore, Cochin and Malabar

Hi Pavan,
Ameen told a great deal about your works. The color of the beetle was your choice right? Papaya Orange. I've seen your thread. Just waiting to see it in flesh. We were discussing about the alloys, but felt that the std rims would be better for a classic.
Will surely drop in to meet you.

do you visit there often ?
Most of the classic cars belonging to that owner has already been posted in this forum in various threads. Also many cars mentioned there have been sold in the past 2 years. To the best of my info, there is no Mini Moke in Kollam

sometime back had seen a similar looking car being worked in a garage in quilon city . iirc the mechanics name was rajan. that car had a daihatsu engine and he said it is made on a standard herald chassis .
is this by any chance the same car?

In all probability this could be the same car because the number of genuine Mini Mokes which came to India were very few, and the relative easiness of fabricating a replica /kit car.It would have been nice if the person who posted the photo could have cleared the doubt
