This pontiac LEMANS convertible has been posted and discussed in this forum before. This photo is taken when it participated in the rally in 1990 and the location is KOWDIAR junction.one can see the Morris MIni moke also in the background.I am not sure, but had this ''veteran rider'' any role in getting this car out of the state?

Ajay, only one photo was taken at the 1990 Rally.

I didn't know it was out of the State now. The car belonged to some one related to Papi Jr, so he may surely know something about it.

Foby, you should have taken some pictures of the other two wheeled beauties in that garage with the Fiat. There are some real nice examples of Japanese classics there. I am glad that the junior is showing some passion the senior had for two wheelers.

Foby, Please keep up the good work in photo documenting the older gems in the state

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe

@ Nairsaab , Thank you for those wonderfull words and appreciation.

Here we go with the bike that travelled centuries, also few Japs are there that I will post in the next post.

I am not sure about the make of this bike but that's definitely a specimen.

Foby,

The "specimen" you have posted is a 1914 Rudge.

I have couple of pictures of it - posted below (I had posted it before I Think). This pictures are from the 1990 Rally in Trivandrum where the bike was displayed. This used to be with a Builder in Trivandrum.

The Japanese bikes I was referring to was the ones with your ''veteran rider'' . Did you get ant pictures of those (other than the RD 350).

Ram

Karl - thanks for the edit of my previous posts in to one. I realised the issue only after I hit the submit button, by then it was too late to delete and edit.

Lovely, just try to get some info about each bike individually.

When you speak of JAP bikes, there are two kinds: Bikes made in Japan, and bikes powered by JAP engines made by J.A.Prestwich Industries, UK which were also used in Brough Superior, Vincent, AJS, Triumph bikes. Also in the Morgan three-wheeler car. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JA_Prestwich_Industries
Japanese bikes made after the world war are also quite rare, there may have been more than 40 companies out of which just a handful survived, all known brands now made in India.

Cheers harit

Harit,

The Japanese bikes I was refering to are nothing that exotic. Its mostly Hondas and Yamahas of the Post war vintage. I haven't seen any prewar Japanes bikes in my neck of the woods back home.

Nice take on the JAP Engined bikes - which you will still find a few (what you have left back)

Best Regards & Drive/Ride Safe
