Looks like a Chevvy Corvair. I do not recall that rear air scoop by the C-Pillar.

I had explained the Ajay99 that this is a Chevy Corvair. As discussed with him, the rear scoop is possible to aid in cooling of the rear engine ca in the hot Indian climate.

Cheers

It is either a Wolseley 1500 or a Riley 1.5 - both badge engineered versions of the Ambassador

Yes. It came from Mysore and was re-registered here in 1992 by my uncle. It was lying unused for the last few years and the paint condition had deteriorated. It is now restored and attaching pics below.

I remember Mr Chummar telling me that he used the BSA during his college days in the 1960s. I had visited his car collection around 1990. I was then working as an Inspector of Factories and Boilers in Kozhikode and hence, it was easy for me to contact him as he owned several factories in Thrissur.

Actually this Morris Minor belonged to my dad and you can see me at the wheels, the photo was taken in 1958 at Kozhikode. I had been searching for this car which was last seen in Palakkad in the 1970s. I had posted the cars photos in the BHP thread "Where is it now? - Lost & Found Classics" and another Facebook group.
One of the replies I got from a car enthusiast / collector from Ooty had a photo of a blue and cream Morris Minor tourer without a registration plate. I am 90% sure it is our Morris Minor as the car in the photo has 2 round holes (for parking lamps) on the sides of the grille. Our car also had 2 parking lights there when I last saw it in 1972. But he did not reveal any further details.
So I suspect the car is with some car collector in Palakkad, Ooty, Coimbatore or nearby areas with no registration documents. As per the Kerala MVD site, the car does not currently have a valid registration. Can anyone help me in locating this car. My intention is just to see the car and I don't have any intention of buying it back. I will only be too happy to hear that our car is still alive and has not ended up in a scrapyard
I already have a 1948 Singer Roadster which I am finding hard to maintain as I work abroad, so another car in the stable is out of question!
I have attached the photo of the MM which my Facebook friend car collector has sent me. I also have several photos of our beloved MM in my album including the one you have posted.
