Thanks! Never knew that we had double deckers on a Ford chassis. Always thought they were only on Leylands / other purely British brands.

Great to see a 1950-51 Bullet Nose being restored

...the bullet-nose Studebakers featured a full-width, or “envelope,” body with integral fenders as promoted by industrial design icon Raymond Loewy and executed by Virgil Exner. This pioneering three-box design that featured a rear deck almost as lengthy as the hood yielded yet another time-worn cliché: “Is it going or is it coming?

Very nice find. Foby, was it originally a Kerala based car?

I recall one of these in Trivandrum with shades of Blue colour (like the shades visible in the pre-resto pics) - it used to be with a family who lived near Jagathy bridge and latter on near Residency building in Thycaud.

It is a 1947 registered Singer 9 Roadster from the Malayalam movie "Kattathe Kilikkoodu". The car is owned by a prominent Architect in Kozhikode since the mid 1980s. Originally from Trivandrum, it was later sold to a Doctor in Kannur who then sold it to the Architect.

There was an aero nosed Studebaker of the same blue colour but split screen in Thrissur during the mid 1960s. It used to driven by a an elderly bald headed gentleman who I heard was a retiree from a Tata company in Jamshedpur, staying somewhere near the Mission Compound.
There was a similar split screen car in Palakkad in the 60s or early 70s, possibly owned by someone in the Chandra Nagar Colony.

No offence meant. It would be great if all can go through the thread before you post - the same information has already been posted in post 1442 by Klub Classand by Ajay in post 1438

Lets try and keep the thread clean without duplicating information if you please.

Best Regard & Drive Safe

You are right, I knew that there was some information already posted but I posted it again as I had added some additional information about the car which was not in the original post by Ajay, including the ownership history after it left Trivandrum. I also remember that that the mechanic had told me long ago that it is a 1946 model, that was why I used the words "1947 registered" in my post.

Ram,
Just to add on to my previous posts, when I posted the above message, I was not aware that there is a feature of Multi-Quote using which I could quote multiple posts. I should have used it instead of repeating the information already in Ajay's earlier post.
My apologies.
Mohan
