Pondichery - Classic Bikes

BHPians,

I went on searching for a Bobby aka. Rajdoot GTS 175 in Pondy, though my search was stopped with a failure

, I really got enough on the classic bikes that are put on Pondichery Roads.

Ofcourse I have witnessed few Bobby bikes but they are not on sale unfortunately. The owner's refused to sell or restore it for themself too.

Here are the pictures (for your eyes only)

Rajdoot GTS (Made in India)

Laxmi 4s (Made in India)

Rajdoot GTS (Made in India)

Vikki aka Victoria (Made in India)

Solex 40CC and Honda CT 70s

Suzuki (model not known)

TVS eko, though not a classic but looked rare finding for me.

and here also the Yezdi / Jawa factory closure left it's foot prints with one of the old distributor. I got access to the closed workshop as I was inquiring about few vehicles and clicked the pictures.

This Yezdi Classic model was brand new one abondend as the distributor closed the workshop and got into legal case.

Really Sad to see these beauties ie in rust...noticed one fo the booby has the monogrm intact..that itself is a masterpiece.

Oh man can see Lakshmi, Vicky and Honda Cub too, so they all belongs to one owner?

Yes, they are.

But the TVS eko and blue GTS are not.

Ask him that you'll get them to their glorious days and all these bikes will get good warm garage and loving owner, count me if he gets ready for any of these beauties.

Its a real pity even though most of these are not officially classics! I guess this is the first time I'm seeing a pic. of a Vicky, and I must say I do find it quite good-looking, especially the front/headlamp cowl!
Pity he doesn't want to sell them or even restore them!

Vicky was there between 70's to 80's and later model was called Vicky II, really hard to ride as her ignition was the main culprit and she use to make hell lot of noise(or say a real screammer).

Wow thatz a lovely Solex. Ive seen a couple of Velo-Solex but not anything like this. This is complete with the inverted levers. Hope he has the motor with him though. All the Solex's Ive seen are from Pondi. Not surprising, given that the company was French.

That's quite a stash. A very nice Vicky was offered for sale in Pune a couple of years ago, was trying for it for a fellow Tbhpian, but was too late. Very cool looking thing!
