Re: Mercedes Benz Club-India

A reminder for all mercedes benz enthusiasts who wish to participate in the motorcade with their mercedes benz cars or otherwise.

This year we hope atleast 35 cars will participate.

It should be a fun drive which will start at carter road and proceed in a convoy towards world trade center cuffe parade followed by fellowship and dinner at flamboyante. This event is sponsored by Mercedes Benz and we hope that all enthusiasts will participate in large numbers and make it a success.

Remember any Mercedes is elgible and non members are welcome.

Just want to clarify, because some did not get it clearly. Your 2013 Model Mercedes-Benz is also welcome, its not only for vintage cars. Kasli, your silver M class too!

Please reply to amol.pontonius@gmail.com, I am again mentioning this here for convenience to copy-paste the mail id when replying.
See you guys at the event, lets try to be more than 35 cars.

Cheers harit

Re: Mercedes Benz Club-India

Amol, I am In. But, why subsidized Dinner? I would prefer paying the full 1200.
Else will skip the dinner part. Dont want obligations of a club or MB.
Can you share the list of cars participating/confirmed?

Bulldogji also said he will bring something. Harit is in with 4 cars from his collection. Good One!!
Well, the event did take place. Assembly at Carter Road, Flag off at around 5.30 PM, drive via Mahim, Cadell Road, stop at Auto Hangar Worli for refreshments, then onwards to Worli Sea Face, Haji Ali, Peddar Road, Marine Drive, Cuffe Parade and end at World Trade Center with a dinner at Flamboyante restaurant. Food and company were yummy and enjoyable.
First set of pictures, focus on vintage and classic cars

Re: Mercedes Benz Club-India

I attended my first Mercedes club drive as a guest and was sad to observe how clueless everyone seemed to be. We were asked to be present by five. Cars were still coming at six. We were told there would be a police escort for the drive. No escort, hap hazard driving, confusion as to the route , Mariwalas were clueless about our stop at the showroom, Parking was not well managed, you had to park wherever you got place. The final nail in the coffin, for me at least, was the dinner venue. Most cars had to find parking space on the road, the restaurant was under renovation, so make shift arrangements were made, no separate area was marked out for us, food counters remained empty for a long time, re plenishments were slow in coming, and the selection and taste was mediocre to say the least. Some guests paid for the food, some did not know whom to pay. Chaotic , not befitting mercedes, would be my summation. The participants were friendly and chatter was fun. This to me was the only saving grace. Hopefully they will be better organised in future.

Agree to the above.
I reached at 430 as the time was five. Roamed around for a while before others came in. No communication of when to start etc. All I knew was we have to go to Cuffe Parade. was surprised we did not take the sea link.
Then suddenly everyone stopped at Auto hangar. I too went in, don't know why though. Came out and waited. No real convoy from there. Asked others and followed them to Cuffe Parade. Luckily found parking for my car.

At the dinner venue, there was no information regarding payment etc or whom to ask. I didn't intend to eat without paying, hence left quietly.

Good Part: The cars and the people, most were trying to maintain a convoy and ensuring nobody gets left behind

No offense, but tbhp meets are way more fun, whether one comes in mercs or a local train
