Re: Vintage Bikes in India

Mr Chauhan, I would request you to please restore the bikes. They deserve it. I am sure your only holding out until the dispute is resolved. It would be great if you would have old photos of when these bikes actually ran in your family.

Re: Vintage Bikes in India

Good Day Sir ,

I will be commencing work on the AJS after the RADCO and the PERAK.

I am in the process of acquiring the BSA , the MATCHLESS is stuck in family disputes ( not my family ).

Regards
Chauhan

Since it is so complete and apparently all original (paint, chrome?), I would leave it unrestored as a display if it were mine. Its only original once! And I think it looks fantastic as is... remember the Bugatti at the bottom of the lake?

Clean and retain. There is an autoglym product which fascinated me called paint renovator. Get hold of it and get the original detail out what is there of it. No touch up

Cheers

Re: Vintage Bikes in India

My new restoration project BSA bb31 1955, with upto date doc. till 2026.
It took me good 15yrs to convince the last owner to handover his youth-full
motorcycle to me.

My guess is that this is one of two
Recently I came across a R12 fork, tank and two hubs. It may now make sense to collect R12 parts.

Cheers harit

Harit, the bike is so huge that only one would fit in the small cupboard. If you came across parts then maybe a bike has been broken up. Wonder where, not the pune bike nah which was with Chris?

By hubs you mean the brake drums? Find out if they have anything more like rims, rear portion of the mudguard, headlamp shell and the rear drive. That I don't have. You know in 1982 (wow that was so long ago. Karl are you reading) I bought a bike and made the mistake not collecting the sidecar. Procrastinator that I am. And then I saw a similar side car on an BSA in 2007 at a rally. Another BSA had a Steib Sidecar. I bet that Royal sidecar was mine. Actually still is.
