The quality is really good for a camera phone. Does the radio work? What about the engine?

1955 Studebaker Conestoga Station Wagon

Please find attached the photographs of the 1955 Studebaker Conestoga Station Wagon currently housed in the Manjusha Museum, Dharmasthala. I have not seen many cars in the this body style and I wonder how many survive in India? Station wagons have never been popular in India.

I remember this car (from the number) having been advertised for sale in Auto India way back in 1999 or so. Contact address provided was of someone in Bombay though.

1928 Nash Special Six Rumble Seat Coupe

This certainly one of the special cars in the Manjusha Museum, Dharmasthala, the 1928 Nash Special Six Rumble Seat Coupe. This car has been a Karnataka car from Shimoga Dist. The car was with a farmer who had converted it to a pick up! Fortunately the farmer had retained all the parts which he had removed and hence the Museum were able to restore the car to its full glory.

The car found in its home made domestic pick-up version

Following are the pictures of the car as it in the Museum. The car has been restored to its full glory and could be one its kind surviving in India

Yes, indeed a rare car and lucky to have survived. There have been quite a few Nash's in India, but as the company went under, the cars too went under as spares became a problem. That is why there are more of Fords, Austins, Chevy's, Buicks, Mercs etc., Adlers, Crossleys, Nash's, DKW's, Hupmobiles etc. went under.
BTW, did you notice those "Lancia" wheels at the rear?
As it is, roadsters are anyway not common in India. One correction should be done, the headlights require plating.

Cheers harit

A close relative of this car, a 1928 Nash Tourer, sits in the Mittal collection in Kolkata. Picture taken at Mukherjee Udyog. Here's the link
