This car belonged to me and was sold to Mr.Gulati. It is 1937 Studebaker Dictator touring Sedan. Good restoration. Picture before were taken in my Garage at Lonavala. The Packard next to it was sold to Kaslival.

Before that the Studebaker was lying in Mumbai very close to Chandanwadi. And recently a very similar car surfaced on PakWheels vintage car section.

Cheers harit

Spotted

Spotted this 1937 Studebaker President tucked away in an alley in Mumbai . Could not trace the owner of the car or the numbers to locate the area where the car came from.
The car looks very restorable and also the dash looks like it has everything in place.

The car is indeed has alot of potential. Do you have a side view pic of the car? The other thing i wanted to know is that does this car have space for the side mount spare wheels?

According to the Official Studebaker Erskine Registry, there is a 1930 Studebaker Erkine Touring Model 53T in Madras, India. The name of the owner is Mr. Harish Gopal. Have attached a pic of a similer car. Any information or photographs of the car in Madras?

Very nice car indeed. There was an identical car in white and orange posted recently.

This is one of the better looking streamlined Study bodies and has a neat gangster look to it if done right

Indrojit...it appears to have one side mount provision so maybe it has a matching one on the other side

Don't think it's a 1937 Studebaker President, But a 1935 Studebaker Dictator, has been on sale for a long time.

Here's a picture of the car on an earlier visit, sometime in 2008/9

There is one Erskine in Bangalore. By now most of the KVCCC Members would have tried for this car at some point. The old man just refused to sell even though it was deteriorating every year. After his death his children have chosen to ignore the car as I guess they need to settle among themselves. I do not see much hope for this car. Shame

I thought as much when i had a first look but then still thought of clarifying. Thid car is aStudebaker Dictator and not the President.

Spotted this Studebaker golden hawk plying on nagar road today morning. It was a treat to watch it share space on road with current cars & outpacing some of them at times.
