I was given a SD1 about 5 years ago by a neice. it was perfect in the body work but had really awful brown vevlet upholstery and the hood lining was hanging down. As I'm a Mercedes guy there was no way i wanted it. The engine had been completely rebuilt at a huge cost so I sold the car to a guy who needed the V8 for his range rover.
They don't have much value here but there is a big fan base for them.
I would imagine the old vanguard 'wheezer' would have been underpowered but with bit of work one could be made to move. After all this is the same engine that was used in Morgans,TR1-2-3 's and some were even supercharged by enthusiasts and was also used in Ferguson Tractors....

Yup

It could be a craker if worked on but taking into account the weight of the SD1 body its not gonna be able to show much difference !

Statesman Rally 2002

Hi.

Some of the Team-BHP Clan are going to be at Fort William on Sat. 8th when the judging is done. Starts around 9 am till 4 pm and is a great opportunity to see the cars up close with out all the crowds on Sunday.

Would be great to meet one another as well.
I don't think it will be hard to spot me and I hope to have my blue Fiat 1100 on the field.

Hope to see you there.

John

The lumber yard is located on the north side of Hazra a few blocks east of Landsdown. Try and speak to the older gentleman in the office. Their office is on the left of the passage into the workshop and lumber storage, with the show room on the right side.
Hi Johne,

Did you manage to speak to the owner of these cars? I am definitely interested in the Dodge.

Regards
Prithvi

I haven't stopped in since I returned to see what cars are still there.
Last march I saw the dodge at Sanjay's and I understood that the owner had moved to another location.

Give me a call 98-3602-1441

Congratulations yardshark.Do keep us posted on the latest developments, as I am sure its condition will improve under your ownership.these MM two door soft tops are getting rarer nowadays.

What a sweet Car!

Reminds me of my dad's very first car that he bought that i learned to drive when I was 14. Not may of them around these days and it loooks like it's in great shape.

Any history on it, how's the mechanics and where is the work being done?

Hope you can start a thread on it as you bring it back to original condition.

Hello Yardshark,

Congratulations on a great buy. I used to have a Morris Minor 4 door later model car. This car has the wrong grille and looks like the door handles are wrong as well. Please post detailed pics of the car's restoration. Is it still in Calcutta or is it in Bangalore?

Regards
Prithvi
