Quite right, from 1930 or maybe '31 the cars were only called Graham, but the company continued to be called Graham-Paige Motor Corporation (or Company or just Motors, but G-P definitely). Hence the hangover of calling the later cars still as Graham-Paige continued in everyday speak, a common error.

This body style of the Graham was probably called Blue Streak, although it was the engine for this model that was originally christened such I think, but subsequently the whole car was called Graham Blue Streak, although they were also called by Type or Series, something like Type/Series 57 or something like that.

Did the rims lose the wires by the later models of the Blue Streak? I don't know how she looks now after the restoration, hopefully the headlight domes are body-coloured. Lovely car though, thanks mucho.

Did not catch much of the vintage rally, but did end up riding through it in an M3. The turnout on the roads on Sunday was simply phenomenal, whether it was for the Supercar Rally or the Vintage rally. What a contrast, and yet, the common enthusiasm which greeted both was so encouraging. These things should happen more regularly.

Guys.

Can we, the unfortunate one in exile, get a detailed report on this event with pictures and details of all the cars ??

Nothing can match the charm of Vintage cars getting paraded along the aisles of Kala Ghoda as it happens every year. The super car show held at Kala Ghoda could have been apt if held in front of Trident. The 150hp cars would have also had the straight patch to rev.

I feel the venues if interchanged could have fuelled in more exhuberance. I spoke to Mr. Dossa who agreed that the show looked quite underplayed.

I am not complaining, however, the VCCCI event could have been much better. The super car show was ballastic!

@the mole - you looked dashing with your shades on in your rover.
@ president (ronnie) - Hey, I am in love with your black centre light's horn.

I returned this morning from Mumbai after attending and participating in the event with President in his 57 Fiat which won a Best-maintained prize as well. Fellow BHPian Harit also bagged a navigation prize in his Karmann Ghia. Other BHPians participating included the mole in his Rover.

The heat was terrible, very exhausting. But being surrounded by classics of all shapes and sizes did make things easier. I shall shortly consolidate the pics I took and post the best ones. Cars of particular interest were Mallya's 1924 Lanchester (which took the Concours), ex-Gondal, and his 1934 (?) Packard. Around 5 cars from the Cartier event were also present. Oldest vehicle was Mallyas 1903 Humberette with a freshly done engine, newest was a Rolls Phantom. Most out-of-towners were notably absent, especially the Pune contingent, barring the endearing Ms Nene, who drove her 75 year old Austin down for the event from Pune, and drove back the next day. Ms. Nene incidentally is about as young as the Austin.

More later.

To begin with here are a few cars not seen in recent events in Bombay.

A couple of little Austins.

Ms. Prabha Nene's cute little convertible, driven to Bombay from Pune on Saturday, driven back on Sunday. The remarkable lady has been maintaining the car herself for the last 50 years, and was most composed navigating the convertible through Bombay traffic in the scorching sun while we continously cribbed about the weather.

Standard Avon of Nitin Dossa.

A Dodge Kingsway, once so common at rallies now surprisingly rare.

Viveck Goenka's Jag E type V12. I remember when the car was freshly imported in the 90s she still carried blue California plates "LOVE V 12"

A neat Ford Jeep, I think it took a navigation prize.

Newly restored Fiat 600 of BHPian 67bug. A similar green car was also present.

Imposing Lancia familiar from the Cartier show. Impeccably presented engine bay.

A couple of nice Pontons. The cream car has been recently restored to terrific levels by owner Dnyanesh Samant, and was bought new by his father. The car did take home a restoration prize. Samant also entered a rare featherbed framed Norton ES2.

Though not entered, the Gondal's 300SL visited to provide some eye candy.

i regularly see this MG TD (?) being used in Pune, sharing garage space with the Jetha's other beauty, the Gurney Nutting P2 Continental Rolls. Another mint TC claimed a prize.

Mallya's recently prepared Packard wowed many visitors. It was one of 3 cars of a similar size and era sporting a somewhat similar paint scheme, the other 2 being the 34 Graham and the 38 Dodge of Dossa.
